Re: Spring is closing in...

I'm going to get me a set of wheels and tires for mine. No more painted stockers and constant wheel spin. That will feel nice.

I heard they got rid of the manual option for the new turbo motors. How fucked up is that?

The Q50 is a really nice looking car, as is the new Mazda6. The Infinity will definitely be more fun overall, but the savings with the 6 will allow more room for mods. I think either of them would make a great DD.

Watch out man, having the seats facing alternating directions like you have it takes up less room. 3 seats across all facing forward might give you a problem. Side note related to infant/toddler seats: my Neon is the only car in my whole family that has a center LATCH location. That's good stuff. B...

I finally got my shop vac working and the weather's been nice, so I did a deep clean of the car. First wash of 2018 and the first vacuum since I bought the thing. Here are some pics of the boot delete, since I've never shown it off with the full interior. https://i.imgur.com/qpCW3LW.jpg https://i.im...

Just by pure random chance, there is a possibility that I might be in Fairborn, March 31st - April first or second, visiting some in-laws. If there's any possible way for me to meet some of you guys, I'd do what I could to make it happen.

Imagine that you believed in a humanitarian cause with so much of your being that you were willing to sacrifice your life for it. Do you think that, decades later, you'd be happy that a company used part of your message to sell goods during a football game? Plenty of companies have attempted to capi...

I didn't watch the game, so I never saw the commercial. I do know that at least one of King's living relatives wasn't fond of it and didn't give permission. I think that as long as FCA legitimately got permission from his estate, then the issue is a smaller deal than some have made it out to be. On ...

Do you still have your Neon? No, but I bought another one. And then another one. And then another one. And then another one. How long have you had your Neon? Almost two years for the current one. 16 years from my first Neon purchase, next month. How many 2GN Carlisle meets have you been to? None. Ar...

If you want a little more quality and adjustability than the Racelands, you can look into Megan or K-Sport coilovers. The next step up is BC coilovers. Then KW and AMR. You have a lot of options. Anything designed for the SRT-4 will fit your car. Even cheap coilovers tend to ride a little better tha...

No progress lately, but I have been pricing out tires and wheels. I was originally going to get some 16x7 RPF1s, but I want more width. Since no one makes an affordable, lightweight 16x8, I think I'm going to go with a 17x8 RPF1. The 17s are only a pound and a half to two pounds heavier and the extr...

Just mount two on the crash bar, behind the mesh in the two upper crosshair holes. That'll probably be enough. And those light bars aren't legal for road use, but no one's going to stop you on dark backroads.

With the current people logging in, I think Jeremy's car would probably be the only 2gn for every month. Hey, I wouldn't argue with that. I only run Mobil 1 full synthetic in everything. 5w30 in my Neon with a new shortblock and 10w30 in my 235K-mile Jeep XJ. I've run as thick as 15w50 in a high-mileage Neon. Never had an engine issue with anything I've owned, that got regular oil changes with synthetic. Honestly, as long as you're wi...

I've answered a couple of questions on the FB page, but in general, I really dislike it. I had assumed that the inclusion of real names and info would dissuade asshattery at a higher rate than the forums, but I guess I was wrong. Lots of useless back and forth, as well as a few legit fucktards on th...

Jeremy, what would it take for you to join us in Carlisle, even with no car? There's about 50 people that would probably offer you a ride from the airport. I don't know. I toyed with the idea of driving over, but then we took a family trip down to Disneyland this summer and it made me rethink that ...

Speaking of my wife, she's driving the Neon today and she actually complained about the short shifter. "Really stiff and too short" she says. I told her she's crazy and that she'll get used to it. So much so, that regular shifters will start to feel like stirring spaghetti. Update. On two separate ...

I've had good luck with all the available parts on Modern Performance's site. I think the Gates pump issue is hit or miss. Some have been fine. It's not exactly confidence inspiring, though.

I wish more people would migrate from the Facebook group, back to the forums. I like the format here, so much more than Facebook. I got into Neons in March of 2002. Thanks, man. I appreciate it. Honestly, I've had expensive intakes and I was curious about the eBay experience. Now I know. One of the parts I received with the 2.4 was an AEM short ram intake. I'm definitely going to stick to the AEM and I'll likely buy the AEM cold air extension from Modern when I...

We had a white Christmas, which is incredibly rare here. Less than a week and it was gone. It usually sprinkles some snow here and there through February, but it rarely accumulates in the lowlands. Looks like it might hit the fifties this week, too. Not to rub it in or anything.

One of the tires has a loose chunk on the sidewall that will flap outward if I pull on it. There was a little ding in the lip of the wheel right near it, so he obviously hit something in the road at some point. I keep that tire on the back, but it makes me nervous. It feels like a ticking time bomb....

Well, I've been struggling with my eBay headlights since day one. The driver's side came broken out of the box. I used some JB Weld to fix it, but the reflector was pointed way too low. I've gathered about $300 towards the $1700 I need for a new set of tires and wheels for mine. I have a bonus coming in the spring that will fill in whatever I need by that point. Yeah, he does great work. I've never had one in any of my cars, but not because I have anything against him. I was actually planning to put one in this Neon, but a Mopar STS kind of fell in my lap for less than a new one of his and I'm a sucker for Mopar parts. The 80 I tried kind of blew my mind. I...
