After reading this thread I'm going to have to change out the mounts now. Had the timing belt changed, and now the mounts (especially the top one) is torn, not sure about the lower one. I know how to change it and not refer to the error that Haynes manual is having with their measurments. (So which ...

After doing my brakes the other day, I am thinking of changing over my drums for disks. So tired of dealing with springs not catching or pads being so thick or etc., etc! This thread has gotten me to look for rear disc parts now and will post an update once I get them. Great info and something to co...

CEL code issues
It's getting time for me to do the emissions test and now my car is throwing codes of 420, 442, 455, 456. All of this from replacing my gas cap! :cussing: WTF! This is why I hate some of the newer cars and their emissions valves and crap! Why would all of a sudden the Cat go out and a small med and ...

If you clear the code, and have a certain # of key cycles since the repair, you should be fine. I don't know how many cycles are required (it may differ from state to state) but if for some reason they require you to have more cycles on it before they pass you, you should be able to bring it back a...

Radiator installed
I now have my radiator installed and filled and ready to go. It took me a day and a half to get it in, but it's in. With my model car I had to make a few adjustments with the Trans lines. I needed to get the hose off since they screwed off on the factory radiator but the new one didn't have that fea...

Radiator replacement *snag*
ok, one thing I notice between the factory radiator that was in my car all this time and the replacement that I got from Rockauto.com is that the trans cooler lines that are built in, is that the ends where the hose attaches to doesn't come off like on the OEM radiator. Interesting since this can me...

Radiator replacement
This weekend I am going to be replacing my radiator. Mostly since I have a leak in the bottom tank and with it being part plastic and metal, making hard to really repair. Not to mention that you can pick one up relatively cheap anyways. Since I need it to keep it from overheating when taking an emis...

2gn Neon most wanted
Just wanted to know what Neon is the most wanted or desired. Since mine is a stripped down former rental model(no pwr windows :cussing: ) I am looking at a SXT, must be manual, around the 02 year. Besides the RT/4 what other models do most look for? With this being said I am looking to add another N...

Thanks everyone. From the way the gaskets looked or the marks that the opening made on the gaskets you wouldn't think that it was leaking. Like I said on one of the pictures captions, it just might be leaking from the top of the gasket and then leaking through it. Will be picking some up soon to fix...

it's a slow leak, but i suspect it's on the metal part where the bottom tank meets the aluminum. The trans coooler in it is fine. No leaks there, and going to do a tranny fluid/filter change this weekend. I checked the hoses and they all don't leak. Not sure why when I don't see any cracks, might be...

key sets
From the Dodge website http://dodgeparts.mopar.com/dodge/neon-parts.html not quite what I was expecting, but I am sure that going directly to a dealership I can find what I'm looking for. funny how it's $100 for the ignition key, but have all the parts to rekey the cylinder for all of the other tumb...
Key sets
I am thinking of getting a new ignition key set for my car, but not sure how it will all work. It's not like on my old 71 Nova with few wires, but I do know that from the dealership it will include the ignition, 2 doors, and the trunk. I am wanting to replace the ignition since I lost the original k...

That is one reason why I think it's just the plastic part of the radiator that is cracked. I tried flushing the cooling system while the car was running and the heater never really got hot. Was pretty nasty and plugged up some, but not enough to close it off completely. So that wasn't the case, but ...

I just finished my 420A swap into my '00 (full write up to come) and i have been itching to do a 5spd swap for awhile, -Mike I've been thinking of doing this as well. Radiator Fix
Since my 02 Neon has a small leak somewhere on the bottom of the radiator, was wondering if it could be fixed rather than replacing it. It seems that it's mostly plastic(factory's bad decision IMO), don't want to have to buy a new one just yet. I am going to pull it this weekend and check it out eit...

how do you get one of those "Driving my Neon till it Dies" signature? I have been seeing them on a few members sigs and I want one! I figured that it had to deal with donating to the site, and if that's the case I will do that. I plan on donating soon, so I can get one. Unless it's no longer availab...

I had an old D50 for a while and it needed some serious tranny work. Even though it's not the same truck, it was 4wheeled drive and I noticed that the drivetrain on them might need some serious inspection before laying down the money. Love how northerner's say little to no rust....bring a magnet! :t...
