Re: Random posting

The Darts are still no comparison to the neons. Two of my nephews have them, and I never really took to them like the neon. I think you would have regretted swapping the neon for a Dart. If you were just getting a Dart as a sacrificial lamb to keep from using the neon as a DD, it would be different....

Hmmm, given the amount of active members, it's a pretty small pool.

Unfortunately, I don't have a place to store it, and I don't have the cash lying around, or the desire to go into debt.

Re: The Official eBay, Craigslist, etc Links Thread for Cars

Should have tried Carvana just to see what they might have offered. That gig is up now, since they bought way too many cars at over inflated prices. They are in deep trouble now. A lot of folks made out like bandits.

Tire Rack/Discount Tire (Same ownership now) usually have monthly rebate promo's on various brands. Unfortunately it's at the whim of the tire manufacturer for the time window. I bought tires from Discount Tire and wouldn't you know it, the next day, there is a promotion for $50 off the ones I bough...

Re: 2005 dodge neon sxt build

SOHC injectors were 19 lb/hr, and 2.0/2.4 DOHC were 21 lbs/hr. But keep in mind, the DOHC stuff was @49 psi, vs the 2001 up 58 psi. Not sure how much of that was adjusted for in the PCM programming, vs an actual flow rate difference in the injectors as far as the SOHC injectors. Obviously the N/A DO...

Re: 2005 dodge neon sxt build

The Jeep injectors will fit, but you'll need to use some washers as spacers, and longer bolts to hold the fuel rail in place. Just add washers until the injectors are at the correct depth. I used the 4.0 injectors when I was playing around with E85, been too long to remember how much spacer I needed...

Re: Random posting

I doubt that you not being able to drive would happen, once it's done, there aren't (shouldn't be) any lasting effects. Just take it easy the rest of the day. One of the times I got rear ended I had an injection earlier that day. It felt like someone punched me in the back where the injection was, b...

Re: 40te to a 41te

I forget which clutch drum it is, but one of them has more friction and steel discs, basically the only difference between the 40 and the 41. I have heard of folks just swapping the drum to the 40TE ATX's to effectively making them a 41TE. If you can get rid of the variable line pressure, that will ...

I'm seeing a back surgeon next Wednesday for a pain shot in my spine. Lumbar epidural injection? If so, don't let them talk you into using anesthesia. I have had a few of those over the years, and never went under for it. It's a little uncomfortable, but not really painful. Pretty much done in unde...

Re: 40te to a 41te

The 41te is just a slightly stronger transaxle. I would still be careful with how much boost you run. If you could find a GT Cruiser, adapting the PCM from a 2004 up along with the 41te from the GT Cruiser would be the better option. You would have to figure out the injector size to compensate for t...

I probably have a SOHC head lying around in my garage, but shipping from Ohio to Montana might not be worth it.

I think 6 aftermarket valves would be cheaper, LOL.

Re: Timing Bet Broke

You could buy 6 valves for less than $250. But changing them without a valve spring compressor would be impossible. This would work fine, just need patience, some small needle nose pliers to help with the locks. Cheap enough for a one time use. https://www.amazon.com/Supercrazy-Universal-Spring-Comp...

Re: Dodge/Chrysler News

I think the whole E-shift thing is an interesting idea, but it sounds like it's a CVT with fake gear selecting to simulate shifting. Would be great if they had a mode where you could select what would be the fastest vs what feels good. Letting a CVT just be a CVT with no fake shifts is fastest. Fak...

Re: Saving a 2001 Dodge Neon R/T

The 2002 R/T PCM I put in my 2001 had a fault code for one of the communication busses IIRC. J1850 or something like that. It is a SKIM PCM, but the SKIS does not function. It was a 2001 base trim and had no issues. Not sure if it had a bulb in the cluster or not. I know it hasn't been reprogrammed,...

Re: Imprezza struts on 2gn cars

The Excel G are supposed to be an upgrade over oem. I was hoping for more towards the level of the Koni ST.R orange struts I have on the '99 neon. If I had known about this then, I might have looked into seeing if the Konis were close enough to use on the Impreza. Koni does not make struts for Subar...

Re: Imprezza struts on 2gn cars

As long as they are adjustable KYB they might be an upgrade. The KYB Excel G struts I had on my 2010 Impreza were no better than the worn out stock Subaru struts. I was pretty disappointed in them. It made me wish I had just bought oem replacements. I also had a creaking sound in the right rear susp...

Getting fired for walking off or not calling off doesn't count....

Re: P0339 PAIN IN THE REAR

If the crank sensor is in the front near the starter it's an '03 engine. It would be extremely unlikely they would have put an '02 SBEC engine in, as the computer etc would have to match, and it wouldn't pass 2003 emissions requirements. Daimler would have been breaking the EPA laws and fined out th...
