Wish me luck

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Wish me luck

Well, this saturday starts the teardown of my engine. my waterpump went bad prematurely and with the amount of miles the car has I decided to rebuild the engine and re-do my suspension. Now my question is will it be better if I take the engine out piece by piece or should I just take everything out at the same and just go from there. I also plan on getting a T-350 since the car will be immobile. I will say I am a little nervous since this will be my first rebuild.

If you have an engine stand, take it out as a whole. If you don't, it might be easier to break things loose/torque them down with the engine bolted to something.

The bellhousing bolts are M12x1.75, if you need some bolts to bolt it to a stand. I only say this, because my stand is very HD, and the neon bolts are not long enough to use. The crank pulley bolt is about the correct length for my stand.

Ok thanks occasional demons. That's good to know information. I will be purchasing an engine stand tomorrow.
