SRT-D

Post by liconhomeie » Thu Sep 04, 2014 3:37 pm

while i wait for my shop to get back to me on a quote for my custom exhaust set up, i wanted to put a short throw shifter on my '05 SRT-D. i was wondering if the SRT-4 short throw kits will work on my SRT-D? i can tend to find them ALOT cheaper then i can find one listed for a regular neon SXT. especially on EBAY.

Yes, they're interchangeable. As far as rod breaks, that's all new to me and I've never bothered with those, but a short throw and boogers from an SRT will work just fine.

See, I didn't know what it was! I figured it was to prevent something breaking!

It is to prevent the shift cable from being over extended in a fast/hard shift maneuver. And I just purchased a Hurst short throw kit for an srt-4. I really hope it fits my srt-d

you weren't incorrect thinking that Adam!

Yes, the Hurst STS will fit in a non SRT neon. All 2gn shifters are interchangeable.

Think about getting the 'Maddog' - It is without a doubt, the best short-throw shifter out there - And pricing is not too bad, either.

I own two of his shifters. :D

well, i got the hurts STS installed. it was a nice improvement. and im glad i didnt go for something smaller from maddog because the shift pattern is already pretty small with the hurst shifter and my mom drives my car every now and then and she was already missing gears!! lol. thank god for rod breaks.lol
