I'd recommend getting a new exhaust manifold gasket, and thats about it...You might wanna go ahead and do your entire exhaust now though. Stick with a 2.5" exhaust. It'll net the best gains for your R/T. I'm not sure what kinda power gain you'll see from a longtube header, but I know after I installed my Fast Fabs LTH, the upper RPM's scream now, and thats with no other modifications, just the LTH.

You can not use the stock cat with a long tube. You can get a aftermarket one and have it welded in down stream of the long tube and dont forget you will have to lengthen your down stream o2 if you do that as well. Or you can not use a cat and it will throw a code for no cat but the least mods are needed that way. But you will still need to re-weld your exhaust a little.

I just pute one on. Love it great item. Although the spring flange thing is not my favorite part. As far as gains I'm not a good one to answer my neon hasn't seen stock in so long I have no way to compare it to stock or preety much anythign else. I will have to say though get one ceramic coated, and its built almost twice a good as the AFX. I think Howell is taking a huge mark up on the AFX. The quailty is night and day differance. Also. The TTI is only slightly shorter then the AFX. For the money and hassle I would go with the TTI hands down. Good luck even getting an AFX out of Howell.
