03 R/T

I am looking at a 03 R/T
Just wondering if they r the same as the 01 - 02 R/T
or is the NGC gonna give headaches if I try to mod too much

Any thoughts?

No not the same, engine/engine management.

The engine block, and crank are different. The piston/rod assy's are also a different part number. I do not know what the change was for the piston/rod assy's. The head, and everything else is the same as the '02. '01 the cam is more aggressive.

When you get to the point that NGC begins to have fits, you can go to a reprogrammed SRT PCM for your build. There is a member or two on here that sells reprogrammed SRT PCM's.

Or there is Mega Squirt.

But then if you really want some power, you may as well go with boost once you get to that level.

AFAIK, the Comp 400 cam will not cause issues with an '03 - '05. But adding a 60 mm TB can cause issues in '03/'04, and definitely '05

With a reprogrammed SRT PCM, depending on your choice of mods, you might still pass emissions, if that is an issue where you live.
That is it's edge over MS.

prolly just intake, exhaust, header, cam not sure havent bought the car yet thinking about it
mostly just looking for a simple dd upgrade from my 97 SOHC

With just those mods, the cam is the only thing that would even come close to causing an issue. And then it would have to be a pretty aggressive cam. I know the 400 has been run without any codes. It is about as aggressive as you can go tho.

The next step up is a crane 14, or w/e they call it now. That will make the PCM in any year throw a code.

I have the comp 400 in my 97 I like it
MN really doesnt have any emissions enforcement so thats not an issue. I just dont want any running problems when or if I start to mod. I just heard that the NGC stuff fights mods but i m not too familiar with it cuz im in a 1G for now but i need to get away from green lol

Well as far as a header, the R/T has a shorty header stock.

About all you can do there is a LTH, or try to find a mid length.

yeah I dont like LTHs difficult to keep exhaust pipes attached to it
I may pass this car up really want to get my 03srt4 running, a car payment will just prolong it
