Random thought.... the original creator of this thread, Dinetuner, hasn't logged on since 2007. Imagine being subscribed to the thread and getting email notifications for every reply. I just picture him logging into his email which he has also ignored since 2007 for some reason and being bombarded with 452 pages worth of "XXX has replied to a topic you posted" emails.

I drove a stock NSRT to 13.8, I know of someone that ran a stock CSRT to 14.0 on a shitty track.Midnight_Rider wrote:The Caliber is also slower than the NSRT-4.
I really liked my NSRT, and my 2gns, but I wouldn't mind a caliber for the kids.
So many neons so little time.

I've been listening to decelerating NHRA cars at O'Reilly Raceway Park for the last three days!

If I lived in Indianapolis, I'd be there ... it's the biggest NHRA event of the year !Midnight_Rider wrote:ORP is 2.7 miles from my house, which is why I can hear the dragsters so clearly.

Just realized I've only driven my Neon once since May. Went to start it today to take it for a drive and it's battery is toast. Caliber SRT is tons more fun to drive but I actually miss my bumpy, slow, little neon.

May to November, yeah, probably been dead long enough to do some damage. Might consider pulling the battery cable between start ups.
All the parasitic stuff to retain memory (PCM/Radio) will take it's toll after a few months. Or consider pulling a couple fuses (IOD and fuel pump) to keep the parasitic losses down.
The bite is you have to reset all the radio presets each time. But then again with a dead battery you have to do that regardless, plus spend for a battery.
Maybe, if it is stored outdoors, get one of those solar trickle chargers to help out keeping it charged.
