SRT-4 Mopar Borla on 2.0

Post by sRTin203 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:54 pm

I ran this exhaust for a while on my SXT motor. My car is a complete swap. The exhaust is 2.5" diameter stainless tubing with one resonator. It literally bolts right up to the SXT cat. It was a few hours to install but works great and sounds immaculent when EGT's are 800+ I'm pretty sure you will lose a small amount of hp if you N/A but then again 2.0s are only pushing 120-130hp.
On the sxt bumper you would have to roll it some how like the SRTs do.

I have one on my R/T. I had to cut it a little in the back to make it fit the bumper cutouts, but it looks and sounds great.

anyone know of any good brands who makes a full 3" exhaust? I cruised with another srt that had a borla on it and I loved the sound of it but I didn't think borla made a 3"..

Adam - If it was the rear section I could see how it would have been annoying. I put an SRT rear section on my 2.0 and all it does is remove the only thing quieting down the noise; the muffler on the stock 2.0 exhausts. I later put a cherry bomb glass pack and it sounded better than I expected it to.

Try trubendz. I got a 2/5 inch from them that is really nice and a great deal. They have 3" listed on their website.

I'd be cautious with Tru Bendz. I bought a 2.5" piping kit from them last winter for my swap and what they sent me was horrible... They cut it into a ton of pieces to ship it so it all slip fir together with different size pieces and fit terrible. Not to mention they welded the hangers too low so it would scrape the ground all the time.

Oh really? That's the first negative review I've heard about them. I would have loved to have kept my 3" catless side exit but I was scared it would get jerked off by all the snow when I moved. I miss that exhaust.. Now all I want is a true 3" exhaust but I can't seem to find any good ones.

Interesting. My piping kit didn't have a thing welded to it. I did have some issues, if you read my product review, but in the end, it all got taken care of.

They sent hangers and clamps, but they were all mild steel, so I basically cut all the oem hangers off, and reused those.
