Pumping brakes causes idle problem

Post by Kona » Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:01 am

No idea what is going on. When I pump the brakes the idle goes up. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Could be a vacuum leak since the brakes are vacuum assisted.

It could also be just the air being displaced by the brake booster. If it settles down right after you stop pumping the pedal, it's somewhat normal. The IAC valve is probably opening a bit to compensate.

The IAC is basically a PCM controlled vacuum leak.
