Modern Performance ... Uh-Oh

Post by nerox » Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:55 pm

Got my MPX 60mm TB the other day and....

... they've sent me the wrong one!

i told them when i placed the order that i live in England and im only gonna be in the US for a week and that that it has got to be delivered to my hotel before i go home otherwise im not gonna be there to get it.

thankfully i did get it in time ... but ...
they've sent me a TB for a 95-99 neon!

now they're closed so its gonna be friday before i get to call them and i fly out of LAX saturday afternoon ...

...Great !

I'm sure Cory will take care of any issues.

If they can't get you one by Saturday, I'd imagine they'd eat the shipping.

well its good to know that hopefully someone will sort it out,

i can probably send them this one back saturday morning (but of course its gonna cost me)

and if they can send me another one to the UK then thats great too but im gonna have to pay 20% of the total (item price + cost paid in shipping) in tax when it arrives + $15 import 'processing fees' which means its probably gonna cost me another $80-$100 !!!

must have had a newb just start working there that has no idea the difference between the two TB's, its blatently obvious. As was already said, i'm sure they'll make good on it.

I understand your frustration....but there's 2 ways you gotta look at this.
1. Can't cry over spilt milk
2. Its modernperformance. They are not gunna ruin there reputation over a throttle body. They have been good company with great customer service, I'm sure they fix.

But don't get me wrong, sucks for now. Also nice buy, though

oh yeah i totally understand that people make mistakes and these things happen frequently and if i was over here for another week or so and had time to swap it, i wouldnt be bothered at all!

even the delay im gonna have now in getting it dosen't bother me, its just the thought of having to pay so much extra in import taxes that i could have avoided by taking it home on the plane

would it be cheaper if one of us here in the states get the throttle body and then send it to you as a used part???

wasnt sure how it worked from lets say a friend or family member as a gift!

nice idea, unfortunately the UK customs already thought of this and still tax you on gifts over a value of $30.

the only way to get around it would be to blatantly lie and put the value as low as possible but i guess ill still have to pay no matter what.

they didnt reply to my email today to im gonna have to call them first thing tomorrow

Finally got the replacement one today.

Cost me another $60 in tax :banghead:

installed it this evening in 20degree English winter.

Took about an hour and a half due to my obsession with removing things slowly, making drawings and cleaning everything :)
