NeonSquirt - Now laser engraved

Post by Una » Tue Jul 08, 2008 10:27 pm

All MegaSquirts made by NeonSquirt from here on out will have this logo engraved in the top of them (that's the actual laser engraving right there in the picture). Sets our MS's apart from the ones made by other companies, gives them a professionally made look.
And yes, the fonts are supposed to look like that, it's the company logo. :) (Well, it's the early Neon factory font, and the MegaSquirt font..)
No extra charge for the logo on there. And it's not optional, sorry. ;)

Some pictures I shot of one of the MS's I recently completed, these pictures will be on my store soon. Thought I'd show them off. Every harness I sell has the inputs twisted with a ground to prevent signal noise, among other minor things I do to prep the harness for the end user. :)
Oh, and before you ask.. The 5 screws in the top of the case are for the Peak&Hold mosfets, the Peak & Hold board gets mounted to the top of the case, and uses the lid as it's heatsink.

I have full pricing details on my site, but for the average person, the MS is $450, and the harness (poly-urethane vacuum line included) is $70. If you're going to run low-impedance injectors, the Peak&Hold add-on board is a good idea, it's $100 more. :)

Yupp, I think mine was one of the last ones you sent out prior to starting the engraving. I'm kinda bummed, lol. BTW, thanks for a quick call back yesterday! I was surprised at your fast response.

Everyone...Brian is a great guy to deal with! Great communication and customer service! Excellent product, too.

No problem. I always feel bad when someone has trouble getting the unit to work, happy to do what I can to help out. Any luck with getting a tach signal? You sure you got the correct wire from the factory PCM? The crank sensor and not the cam sensor.

Plug the harness in? It plugs into the MS, the other end is just wires.. You have to hook it to your crank sensor, throttle position sensor, air and coolant temp sensors, O2 sensor (preferably a wideband), the injectors and the coils. I think that's about everything.. It's going to need ignition switched power fed into it and a good solid ground.

I believe I am going to need something to control my stroker better. In my sig is my build - Is it possible to keep all of the creature comforts of the existing PCM (Cruize Control being one of them) and just control fuel and possibly spark with the NeonSquirt? Can this be done without throwing codes or be easily swapped out when taking the car in for an inspection?

It'll throw codes, your cruise control will stay working, at least it did in my '95 when I had the MS wired in. As for being swapped back out for an inspection, if you used something like bullet connectors where you cut the wires coming from the PCM, it wouldn't be too hard to hook the wires back up. Just takes some creative thinking. :)

Una - Did you find anything out about the Neonsquirt and Flex fuel sensor? I plan to order one as soon as I know the best way to have it configured. Based on my build, what would you recommend.

Apparently it does support the FFV sensor. I don't know of anyone doing it yet. I also haven't seen any instructions on how to build that input circuit.

Anyone know how to get in touch with Una? I bought a NeonSquirt from him and now it seems he is out of business. I just need to know if he is going to send the NeonSquirt I paid him for. The last time I have been able to contact him has been 4 weeks ago when he said he would have a tracking number for me soon.
I sure hope somebody can help me with this - it's the last piece I need to complete my project.

Just an FYI, I had actually shut down the store before taking your order. I'm simply fullfilling outstanding orders at the moment. No need to be alarmed. I admit, I'm running a bit behind, an I appologize for that. Your MS is done and tested, I just need to get a chance to run it down to the post office.
