SOHC Intake Manifolds - Need Cores
For those of you that junkyard dive, I need you to keep an eye out for the 95 aluminum SOHC manifolds as cores to make some pretty intense intake manifolds. Once I have enough cores, we'll be doing a group buy that will be filled pretty quickly.
If there's enough interest, we'll be doing a dual-plenum manifold. What's the benefit, you ask? Well, the intermediate plenum slows down the charge and distributes it much more evenly into the primary plenum. Long gone are the days of a pig-rich cylinder 4 and a lean cylinder 1 because of the charge blowing right past cylinder 4 and collecting at cylinder one.
The end benefit is that in the short term, you make more power. You aren't going to get feedback from the knock sensor as early when adding timing or pulling fuel. In the long term, the rotating assembly lasts longer. The main bearings are accepting the load evenly, and there's less chance of very light knock going undetected.
Then, of course, you have all the normal benefits of a box manifold, with more midrange and top end response and power and they look really neat.
We're probably looking at doing the standard boxes with polishing at around the $550 mark or the dual plenum around the 750-800 mark.
I need to know who is interested in what so I can determine if it's worth sourcing the cores, getting the maching work done, buying the aluminum, etc.

that price including any porting to the runners, or just the "box" manifold?
