red plasti dip
Has anyone used the red plasti dip?
What do u guys think the chances of it matching/being somewhat similar to pr4? I'm going to do my front and rear bumpers since they're black and don't feel like paying 500+ to get them painted

no, don't do it. You can do the whole car, but there's no way it's going to match if you do just the bumpers.NyNeon0813 wrote:Has anyone used the red plasti dip?

So what's the worst?, it will just look like factory faded red bumpers.ThatKevin wrote:

I painted a fender myself with the spray can of factory color match pr4. Came out darker than the rest of the car but oh well, atleast its not black.
now that I'm really thinking about it, i am going to rattle can them factory pr4. I'm sure it will be closer color wise than the dip would be.
Dammit. Decisions decisions

dip the whole car? like $500 probably less, and a day. One colour, that matches throughout

I used gray primer for the fender. Going to do the same this time too..
I can get all the stuff to paint just the bumpers for around 150.. And it'll b easier to just pull the bumpers off since im changing out my front bumper anyways.
I don't kno what to do!! Don't have a garage to work in either. So that's kind of screwing me. Wouldn't mind doing my whole car black?! Need to sleep on it i guess

damn. when I had my 2000 and was too cheap to buy proper PR4 I used Rustoleum Sunrise Red... a few bucks a can and the match was pretty damn good.
painted this hvac surround
this spoiler
and this rocker panel
for about $20 worth of paint and it's durable and gives a decent gloss

lol nope. my experience with rustoleum has always been that if you apply it wet enough for it to flow out nicely you will get a very hard finish once it cures and a good shine.

If you didn't paint the interior of the fender, take it back off with the fascia. That black shipping paint is just that, it will not keep it from rusting. It will be gone in a couple of years otherwise.NyNeon0813 wrote:I painted a fender myself with the spray can of factory color match pr4.
