If you can hear it run for a second or two, when you key on, but don't crank, then chances are it is good. If it continues to run for more than 3 or 4 seconds, it may not be building pressure fast enough. Of course if it does not run at all, then you need to figure out if it is the relay not energizing, or the wiring or the pump. Do you know if there is power to the injectors? The common color wire between them is the positive. The PCM grounds them internally to fire each one. If the ASD relay is not being energized, the coil/injectors won't fire.

So i have swapped everything on this list except for the 3 selnoids and the vaccum lines. My question is that where is the 3 selnoids mounted since i have aftermaket intake, and where do all the vaccum lines run to. I also am installing an AEM boost controller but the hose that comes off the turbo and wastegate are bigger then what hooks up with the kit from AEM. can anyone help me with these??

The diagram of how the vac lines are to be installed is under the hood of a SRT, if you have access to one. I can't remember where I saw one floating around. May have been the SRTForums.nasty_neon01 wrote:So i have swapped everything on this list except for the 3 selnoids and the vaccum lines. The solenoids can be installed on the battery tray. That's where I have mine. I'm not at home so I can't snap a pic of it. Hopefully someone has access to a pic and can post it.
Where are these solenoids located at? I don't know where they are and I don't see any free connectors for them at all...
However, I do have three of these things and I'm not exactly sure where they go. I think one goes in the hotside pipe, but I can't get it to fit in there. Other than that.. no idea where they go...

Those are ambient temperature sensors. One should go in the intake (IAT sensor), and the other may be for the fancy rearview mirror, that displays outside temp. There may be other places for them, that I am not aware of.

Okay, that's what I figured, but wasn't positive.
Which harness do the solenoids connect to? Engine, body, ...? I have no idea where they're located, where they're connected to, etc. I cannot find any solenoids on this motor or connectors where they would even connect to.

I would assume engine harness. IIRC from pics, possibly in this thread, they mount near the battery.

Again, this has come back to haunt you IIRC, that harness has the solenoid connectors you need. If you don't have the solenoids themselves, you at least need the harness so you can put in resistors to fool the PCM in thinking they are there.NOS2006 wrote:I didn't swap the body harness or front harness because I was told from multiple sources that the ONLY different harness on '03-05s are the same except the engine harness..
To be honest with you, I think some of the no start problems you are having may be tied back to the lack of this harness. It will be really hard to diagnosis the problems you are having since not everything you need is present.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

I missed that part where he said he didn't swap the front harness. There are plugs that connect to the solenoids or as you stated, install resistors to the plugs.Danteneon wrote:Again, this has come back to haunt you IIRC, that harness has the solenoid connectors you need. Yes... that is the engine BAY wire harness. goes from inside the car through the firewall and all the way around the engine bay. Hence the name. it has your fuse box, your solenoids and your ECU connectors for the big ones.NOS2006 wrote:Okay, so the front harness (that the radiator connects to) is the one with the connectors for these solenoids, right?
If so, that is an immense help. I'll have to sell some parts so I can afford that harness lol.

the engine bay harness has two plugs that u need to go into your pcm, the other one that is for your pcm is off your engine harness. The engine bay harness goes thru fire wall and connects to your dash harness (that has ur keyless entry module, air bag module, gauge cluster, radio, SKIM). Im not sure if you need the srt-4 speedo or not, i installed it anyways.

Just don't confuse the PDC (engine bay fuse/relay box) with the fuse box that is in the interior.

I have an extra harness but some of the plugs were cutoff due to the donor car being in an accident. I think the TPS and IAC plugs are gone.NOS2006 wrote:Okay, so the front harness (that the radiator connects to) is the one with the connectors for these solenoids, right?

Swapped from '04 R/T to '04 SRT drivetrain. Just installed brand new PDC/Fuse Box harness today, first time I've had time to all week. I have the following codes:
My predictions for the causes of these:
Also, I have this connector (pictured below) just sitting here disconnected and I'm not sure what it's supposed to go to at all. It's a three prong and comes off the harness just in front of the fuse box at the same spot where the ambient temp sensor wires come out. Any ideas?
- P0032 (O2 sensor 1/1 heater circuit high)
- P0073 (Ambient temp sensor high)
- P1190 (Tip sensor circuit high)
- P0517 (Battery temp sensor high)
- P0340 (Camshaft position sensor intermittent)
My predictions for the causes of these:
- P0032 is because I'm catless.
- P0073 -- Connector was unplugged from sensor
- P1190 -- I have no idea
- P0517 -- There's no connector on the fuse box harness for the battery temp sensor connector, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this one.
- P0340 -- I have no idea, but could this be the cause of having no spark and no fuel?

So the replacement harness is for an SRT?
The cam signal might be the cause of no fuel/spark, but from what I've read, the engine will still run in limp mode with no cam signal.
I have no clue on the connector, if it isn't for the headlight.

Yes, the replacement harness is for an SRT. I'm not sure the year the harness is for, but we've concluded on SRTforums that it's probably an '05 harness since it doesn't have a battery temp connector.
The connector pictured was found to be for the TIP sensor, which I don't think I have anywhere.
