Sun visors with extensions ?

Post by Jean-Seb » Mon Jul 21, 2014 10:50 pm

While on a road trip this weekend, the sun was shining from the side between the visor and the B-pillar for hours. grrr....

So I was wondering if there was some visors with extensions to cover that gap. I'm just asking because this option was available on my former car (92-98 Pontiac Grand Am). It's just a plastic plate that retracts between the two halves of the visor.

Maybe there was an option on a specific trim level ?

Let me know ! :)

Not that I know of for 2nd gen's. The earlier 1st gen's did have a slider that did help some. I think those were only for the '95/'96 models.

^ yep those or the 1gn ones like mentioned. both should bolt right in. the neon ones are all tan at least no black visor.

ACR MAN wrote:I recently installed a driver's side sunvisor from an '03 PT Cruiser on my '05 SRT-4. The color matches perfectly and - check this out - the whole visor slides back & forth. This is helpful when you are trying to block the sun from shining in at the top of the driver's window when you flip the visor over to the left. There is a problem, though: The sunvisor is wider than the 2gn neon visor, so it hits the bulge in the headliner where the sunroof switch lives. This means that (on a sunroof equipped car at least) you can't snap the sunvisor into the retaining clip. I suspect that on a non-sunroof 2gn neon, you would be able to engage the sunvisor to the clip. You need to grab the PT visor retaining clip because it is a bit different from the 2gn neon clip, but it should fit & work.

Excellent ! Great info, thank you all. I'll have a look at the junkyard next time I go and do some tests there.

Thank you !

Yet another example of DCX cost-cutting on our Neons. #-o

The sliders were cut before Daimler acquired Chrysler Corp. IIRC, '96 was the last year for them.

But we can still blame them :P

Lolz, it is our fault.

If we had only stopped buying them, Daimler would have been happy to quit making them. So therefore they would have been well equipped at the end of production.
