Hey all. I just received a car shipped to me from Indiana today. It's a 2001 Forest Green Neon. 166k miles and running decently. Only issues are the lack of a serpentine belt, so no power steering. And the passenger fender is dented up from a small accident. Total cost of the car was $385 + shipping.

Another Neon in my Neon family(I also own a 99). :)

Nice! Curious as to how you found it in Indiana since you are in Ohio.

Ebay

Anyway. Went to the junkyard, got some new parts. Here are more pictures of the car.

Last owner really seemed to have abused her.

Ahhh, the fabulous bubble tint mod. Worth negative 6 hp.

Got some work ahead of you for sure. Hopefully it is just missing the PS belt due to it disintegrating, and not from other issues.

I like the, quite literally, wire ties holding the A/C condenser and fan shroud in place.

But for the money, it don't look too bad.

The reason the belt was off is because the tensioner is screwed up and shot. So I'm going to get one at the junkyard this weekend. Sucks not having power steering.

Lotsa stuff done, including a mini detail/wax.

- Fixed bumper with heat gun to bend it back
- new headlight set
- replaced 3/4 tires/wheels
- some new interior parts
- replaced 3/4 side windows
- new tail light
- new fender

This car needed a decent amount of cosmetic stuff. I used a heat gun to fix the dented bumper and bent it back, then put on a new fender. I changed 3 of the tires and wheels. I put on new headlights and one new tail light, as one was cracked. I went to the junkyard and got 3 new windows for the sides of the car. I also got there some small interior pieces that it needed. This week, O'm getting new carpet and replacing the wire harness and fuse box to use with power windows, and getting the new door panels for those. :)

Then..

Went to the scrapyard again and picked up a white-dial cluster with tach for $5. Score for me. :good:

And just a day ago..

Got an OEM wood grain console bezel and a strut kit. Merry Christmas! :)
