03 SRT 4 114,000 miles on the OD.

The good:

Immediate plans:

Exterior:
Painting the front bumper, hood, roof (fixing the dent in the process), trunk (has lots of scratches), and rear bumper.

She's getting my Neon's wheels, tires, and 3d tails.


Engine:

needs timing belt, water pump, upper, lower and the middle frame motor mount, colder plugs, colder t-stat, booger shifter bushings.

Suspension: getting my used BC coils, progress rear sway, needs new LCA bushings (going with prothane).


one big surprise today. I found she has S1 injectors and a staged PCM!

is the hood shut in the last pic? can't tell if it's popped or not and it has that much of a gap?

i just put on my srtd bumper and it has a gap a little bigger than that! wtf

Thanks man. Yeah the gap really is that big. I think I can adjust it a tiny bit but that's pretty much it.

My wallet hurts a bit after looking at this list. its funny how shit goes around and comes around again. All these parts are what I have replaced over the years on my 02. Now time todo it all at once and more.

All right so my friend that was going to work on my car last month decided to turbo his DD civic for our annual track day event so he postponed all the work on my car till this week. I'll snap some shots of the process. he just started stripping the car down for body work.

maintenance/engine:
so far i got all my timing belt and water pump components together. I bought a higher flowing t-stat, upper and lower mm, DCX fender mm, a Sykes charge pipe, and a mopar BOV adapter plate, and a newer polished fuel rail.

Never heard of a "high flowing t-stat" A 180 as opposed to a stock 195? "newer polished fuel rail?" Another stock one just cleaned up or aftermarket?

yeah duralast makes a t-stat with 50% more flow and one thats 180 degrees. The fuel rail is just a nice cleaned up rail. Mine looks like garbage right now.

anybody know the length and size of the bolts are that come with the mopar bov? I got mine used and it only came with the gasket and bov plate.

The car is finally on the lift. The car feels like a bad omen as I helped strip off the wheels. The lugs were corroded into the wheels so we had to have a very significant amount of force to get them off totally destroying the chrome covers and almost stripping the lugnuts.

At first sight I notice the rotors were probably only replaced 1 in the cars life. They were gouged beyond belief. All original bushings on the car throughout. Including the shot LCAs. I already ordered the energy bushing kit along with new power slot rotors. I am going to probably go with a high end duralast pad since I normally don't go through pad too quickly and being a DD I can just keep getting them on lifetime warranty.

I was going to swap over my BC coils but I am 90% sure they are blown :/ been getting sounds like the pillow balls are going too. Eh 4yrs 60K+ on them. I am not surprised.

Updates:

timing belt and water pump is in.

the car is sanded down and almost ready for paint. Just a few small areas needing extra prep and we will be ready to go.

Mopar S3 coilovers new in the box are waiting to go on the car. I think I will hold off to install them till the spring since they will just get dirty.

I am crossing my fingers that this was a decent purchase. I have yet to drive it more than 50miles or so.

New paint will be on by then for sure. Hopefully it will be all put together by then. one thing is for sure. It will be in a 4x4 stance lol.

I just picked up a red 03 last month, 130k miles, also needed bushings, timing belt and water pump, also has a badly chipped up bumper and hood, and mine needed brakes all around...

still needs a rear strut...

should be done this weekend for the gumball meet at Limerock Park in CT. It won't be lowered but its gonna shine like hell.

I'm trying to prep my evo for a track day the following week. racecar comes before the srt.

Certainly tons of loving going on. It's all wet sanded and ready for a 3 stage buff. I don't have time to get it lowered for the car show but everything else will be together for it and it will be driveable.
