megasquirt standalone help

im slowly climbing up the steep learning curve of megasquirt but i still have questions that i cant find answers to (or im not lurking enough). so here is the list.
1. i want to get off the stock ecu of my neon, and am interested in the standalone megasquirt III ems with ms3x. Is this what im looking for?
2. how would i hook this up?
3. im planning on going the turbo path later down the road, what would i need when i eventually get that far

(please keep in mind that im just looking for megasquirt answers)
