Buying a R/T trans from a junk yard and want to make sure it's an actual R/T.

That one is a little tough. The transmissions use a production # rather than a part #. We use the production # to help cross to a part #.

I used my VIN to determine the production # for a 3.94 trans.

3.94 Trans (2002 R/T and ACR) 4668980AA

In 2002 I found a production # for a 3.55 trans to be 4668697AD

These #'s will vary from year to year as well. If you can tell me the year the trans came out of and the # on the trans tag, I can tell you what it is.

*Note* The round metal tag on the trans will not only give you the production #, but also the gear ratio. Any 2nd gen trans with a 3.94 ratio will be a R/T or ACR trans.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
