Part Number Request: ECU part numbers

Post by Chamuko » Mon Oct 26, 2009 9:28 pm

Hello, Just bought a 2000 neon as a daily. Problem is I think it was auto and still have the auto ECU but MT conversion. So I cannot pass emissions with a CEL. Does anyone know the part number for a 2000 MT CA emissions ? W/o SKIM?

Or how can I decode? Look this up myself?

Will any of these work?

If the CEL is for the converter lock up solenoid, The wires that go to the solenoid are Dark Blue/White and Orange/Black. So look for a connector with those two wire colors. Wire them to a relay coil, and it may get rid of the code; after you disconect the battery, or better, wait a few on/off cycles. (so the monitors are still set.)

Sometimes it can be a royal pain getting it emissions ready after the PCM has been reset.

So any SPDT relay? or buy the solenoid from the parts store?

I just ordered this ECU

Big Sticker on back

Authorized Software Update 3098AC

P/N : P05033098AC
VIN : 1P3ES46C7YD7693

It Starts, No CEL but shuts off after a second or two... is it the SKIM?

If my car has no SKIM key, can I just get one and use it with this?

on the top it says

Chrysler P/N : P05293224AC
Module S/n: T79EH04200MYKY

The car shuting off would be the SKIM. Be aware that if you try this 3 times you will be locked out from starting the car at all.

There is no difference in a PCM for a SKIM equiped car or not. If the car has no SKIM and the PCM has never seen a SKIM signal then it won't require one. But if you take that same PCM and install it into a car with SKIM, it will forever more require a SKIM signal.

As far as the part #s you posted, none of them appear correct. As far as I can tell, the only part # that would fit the bill for you (2000 2.0, manual trans, Cal. emissions) would be 5293023Ax (the x being pretty much any letter level from M to U).
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Just a cheap SPDT relay, all it needs to see is some kind of resistance to ground/through the circuit. It doesn't even have to send a signal to the solenoid to know it is not there. I get an MTV code just starting the car. The MTV relay is not actuated until at least WOT, so I know it is not sending voltage to the relay.

woops, good thing I only tried to start it twice... My car does have the RED led top right on the dash that stays on constantly with the ECU it has now, but starts with a black key no prob for well over a month.

The new ecu, no CEL no red LED nothing... but shuts off.

But I guess its the wrong one regardless?

Ill try the solenoid... what about a resistor?

You would need to know what the ohm value needs to be. IIRC Dante used 33 ohm resistors to simulate some solenoids in an SRT swap...

You could PM him, incase he doesn't see this.

You would need to know what value the PCM is looking for. The 33ohm is used for taking a SRT off PCM controled boost, while I needed 14ohm resitance for my airbag deletes. The value does vary.

Suckage! Since you obviously don't have a TC lockup solenoid to test. It's not something I have lying around, or I would be happy to do it.

The relay is still worth a try. I doubt one of those is going to pull as much, so it shouldn't hurt anything.
