i think i know what you are talking about.
it goes to the back of the valve cover, and is more on the passenger side right?

that provides fresh air into the valve cover so the pcv system can suck it out and a vacuum isnt created inside of the valve cover.

you want to run from the pcv valve (where my hose hooks up to), to the catch can (if you are using the $20 one then run it to the side marked 'IN") and then from the catch can to the intake manifold nipple.

no i understood that completely....i too have attempted this....sept not sure if its my welder or wat but the welds dont hold liquid....the second i fill it with water it turns all the welds darker as if i used clay to hold it together...kinda weird....and nobody say its cus theres leaks!!!.....its fully welded all the way around with perfect penatration....

Welp, I did this today also... I had to use a HUSKY brand 1/4" inline filter instead of the one listed because they do not have them anywhere here

I also used 3/8" fuel line, 2 - 1/4 NPT to 3/8" hose adapter, things  and I bought a few bolts and washers and then 4 hose clamps.

Here are the finished pics - oh yeah, I also used some fo the original pvc tubing.

We will see how well it holds up!! :D

edit: also, do you need the filter in place inside the catch can itself, or should I remove it??

that little white stone filter inside?

i kept it. i think it helps prevent oil from getting sucked up.

i have seen some people get rid of it.

if you go look under the hood at your stock pcv line. follow it from the pcv valve to the intake manifold. there is a big nipple that it slides over.

if you cant find it i can try to get a pic tomorrow, but it sure cant happen tonite. i shouldnt even be typing you this message with the homework i have.

what is that valve called officially on the back of the valve cover?

its not a PCV is it?

on the back of the cover its not a valve. its just a nipple for the line to hook up to.

the one on the dr side of the valve cover is the PCV valve.

I recently did mine last week, purchased a catch can with a breather for 25$ from a buddy of mine (Was going to put it into his SRT-4 but he decided to go with something else instead) and I mounted mine to the right bolt in front of the battery...

I did have to plug the breather though...my rpms was idling at 2000rpms....

Anyone used these? I think this is the kind of fitting the hose on the pcv is attached to, but i've never taken it off. I was thinking about doin this with plastic fittings like those, instead of stainless steel quick connect fittings.

Shouldn't be a problem seeing as the PCV is plastic, and that will do the same job as the male quick disconnect fittings.

Do you have a tractor supply company in your area, they have them.

I had to get one a month or so ago and I had a hard time finding one.

Other places to try, ACE, try your local Home Depot or Lowes (even though my HD didn't have them, which shocked the hell out of me)

I would think that any place that sells air compressors would have them (thats why I went to home depot), so Sears might be a good place.

It would be best to print out a picture of the item, because the people I talked to had NO IDEA what the hell I was talking about.

and more importantly, why are you paying $5.99/qt for Valvoline oil. I'm pretty sure Walmart has that stuff in the 5qt jugs for ~$22. or you could switch brands, but I know how some people are about that.

btw what line do i use? is heater hose and fuel line good? cuz i can go to autozone to buy some...but i don't want it to collapse.

i found a home depot down the street that has one...yay online stock check.

Instead of doing this is there any way to make a baffle around the pcv on the inside of the valve cover?

The fuel line is ok, but the heater hose will collapse in a relatively short time. You can use the fuel line for both sides, it just takes some convincing for it to get on the intake manifold barb.

There are part numbers in the bottom of the How-To that are really good items, that should not collapse at all.

If your going to do all that, you might as well just put a 1gn valve cover on it.

The 1gn cover has the PCV in a better spot, right in the middle.

But if you wanted to get creative sure, I don't see why not.

my bellows couplers collapsed...yay

They have the "Husky" ones at Home Depot. I was looking by the air compressors and was like "wtf" they don't carry them. Then I looked a bit closer and they come in a tube!? I plan on putting one between my CAI and the breather side of my valve cover. (Need it for vacuum on SRT's) I have no where to mount it, would it be okay just to have it floating there? Since the distance is not great at all between the intake and the breather side of the valve cover.

Some people dont strap it down, but even if you just found a place to wrap one zip tie around it you would be better off, imo.

yes you can.

but, as i said before:
racer12306 earlier in this thread wrote:since i do not have a CAI i dont think i have as much room as that person did. i think my setup looks better than that one, more professional. almost like its supposed to be there. maybe i should get a can of graphite paint and shoot the stainless piece to match the car, it would look pretty sharp then, imo.

Ok, so I read this and am thinking - why does one want to do this? What is the benefit? Yes it keeps oil mist out of the intake manifold but is there some performance or drivability reward?
