No dash lights or parking lights.
I got a new car stereo for Christmas and I have been having problems with my car since I installed it. It's a 2005 dodge neon
~The new radio works
~Parking lights don't work
~Dash lights don't work
~Shifter lights don't work
~Fuses are all fine
I am willing to try anything to get it fixed. I love my car!!

Did you check the fuses under the hood? Did you do anything with the grounds behind the HVAC panel?

splice in a new connector, its not that anything is "shorted" most likely, its a "normal" thing for them to do that from the factory, shitty design = too much load on the lighting circuit
if you want to try to eliminate the problem altogether, i believe there is a how-to on here for installing relays in the circuits. either way the connector still needs replaced

i'm sure it was a coincidence that it melted, the only thing that runs through the MFS to the radio is the dimmer and most times that's not even hooked up. like i said its a common problem for the MFS connector to melt.

How do I keep the connector from melting again?
Also are you sure the MFS is broken too? i'd replace the wiring first then see if you still have issues. Dont get me wrong it could be both, but i'd fix one thing at a time.r/tguy02 wrote:if you want to try to eliminate the problem altogether, i believe there is a how-to on here for installing relays in the circuits.
