I don't know how many cycles are required (it may differ from state to state) but if for some reason they require you to have more cycles on it before they pass you, you should be able to bring it back at a later date (again, varies) to have it rechecked (usually for no charge).
It's that way here in GA. Have to do yearly tests and it's 50 cycles before they will pass you. I'm having the same problem and finding that some of the corner rubber tubing is just flaking apart. Why use such lexan style tubing is beyond me. I just have to get a few more pieces of tubing to fix them. Rockauto.com has the canisters for cheap so I may get one if it don't pass or try the reset CEL trick and cycle it before heading to the emissions testing.

Did this today and it looks like it's gonna clear the code....Just incase anyone didnt know it's gonna take 3 days to clear the code...Let the car sit for about 6 hours go out turn it on after its completely cold....do this for the next 3 days and make sure the fuel level is between 15 & 85%

Just wanted to update this for everyone.

Here is a part # for the actual part 05278162AA

My dealer sold it for less than 10 bucks. I asked about the PT cruiser part and it was 18 bucks.

Thanks for the write up. This should keep my CEL off as well

Ok John, what about the rest of the hoses back there....all mine are bad on the R/T. I'm pretty sure I can figure something out. Just wondering if you found a cure for those aswell.

Hmmm. I didn't have to mess with them yet. IIRC, they were available seperately, but not being a Dodge dealer doesn't allow me to look them up :(

Just remember to omit the zero at the beginning, or it will show as an invalid pn.

Drove my neon until it was killed in a flood.

Same place, yes. They may be different part numbers for the 03-05 because of the changes made to the evap system though.

I don't mean to bring an old thread back to life, but this could be my cel light code remover! I Benn hunting this code for 60 days or so. I found that hose cracking at the canister. I already replaced the purge solenoid checked every hose and gromet. Found this thread and checked that hose out and bingo!!. I ordered it from O'Reilly auto. For $13.99 + 7 shipping. Special order part. I will up date this post when I get it installed.
