18x8 Rims with 225/40/18 tires, will they fit?

The offset is +35. I've got Eibach Pro Street Coils.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... I wish I could say for sure, yes, but I do not know. I think the biggest deal with larger tires on our cars is the top hat of the strut, and since you do NOT have stock struts, then maybe it will fit. Then again, I have not looked at all the math.

Do you have actual coilovers or a strut/spring combo?

I am running 18x8 rims with 225/40 Hankook tires. I have Progress springs, and SRT struts.

You will have to have either coilovers or SRT struts. Offset doesn't really matter, as the rim/tire would be hitting the spring perch before you can get the wheel onto the hub...

You should be okay. The coilovers obviously have no true strut perch, and they barely impede on the tire.

with coilovers u should be fine for the strut perch... but with the 225 u have to worry about rubbing on that bar behind the rear wheels... i forget what its called.

to be safe id recommend 215/40/18

he's talking about the rear trailing arms.... or whatever they are, anyway, yes, you may have to worry about that.

Here in Mexico a friend have one SRT-4 with Stage 3 suspension with 235/35/19, and in SRTForums see one time 245 on one SRT-4 with COs. Because the base plate its delete in COs and the tire dont have limitants

um i hate to say it but they wont fit on the sxt we have a strut tension bar in the back.. you will need a spacer..your fine with the strut perch being as you have a coilover but the 225 will rub the tension bar back there..

Or you can get a pre-bent tensioner from mopar.

I am currently running on 225/18 right now, and the tire does not rub on the tension bar. I have the stock SXT suspension, my struts and springs are the only difference.

I believe my rims have a 35mm offset.

Say we do have that tension bar, Is it safe to manually bend it enough so the tires don't hit it? I'm looking to go with a 225/40/18 as well with a set of kyb fully adjustable strut/spring combo. any suggestions with that?

Then again I'm lookin for a 1.5-2" drop at best.

ive got 215/35/18 and my wheels are 48mm offset and my wheels rub bad do u think a spacer will fix it its a 04 sxt

all tensioners are bent in the same manner, regardless if they were the stock or performance ones (that's how the stock looks like) ....

im running 225/40-ZR18 on mine with a 18x8 rim with a 4" deep dish on stock suspension.

needed a 1/8in spacer and ALOT of hammering and there your go, you can barely clear a sheet of paper between the tire and various suspension parts... no rubbing no problems after 3years... perfect alignment still from factory no offset at all

That I seriously doubt... Before I installed the Mopar Tension Bar, I put them beside a neons, a stock srts, and the mopar... and they do have different bends... The srt has the widest bend... If you don't believe me I can surely take some pics of a stock one from a neon and the srt if you guys like this weekend...

I never actually had a performance one to measure or examine, but from the pictures I've seen, the bending seems similar. my comment was more about the stock one being also bent.....
