Error codes 137 and 32 -- O2 sensor wiring?

Is your car throwing codes or are you having a hard time passing your state or county emission test? Ask how to fix it here.

Error codes 137 and 32 -- O2 sensor wiring?

Post by Skitlz » Fri Mar 15, 2013 4:56 pm

So both sides of my upstream O2 sensor's harness melted together and I had to rewire it.

I tripped codes 137 (pretty sure) and 32, so is it safe to assume I just crossed the white wires?

I swapped them and reset the CEL, it finally came back on so I'mma check if it's just the typical 420.

Okay only 420 is tripped now. Would 137 and 32 come on at the same time as 420?

I don't think it matters which way the heater wires are connected. It is like a light bulb, it isn't polarity specific. That is why they are both the same color.

If the heater circuit wires were/are shorting to the o2 circuit wires, that would give you some codes.

0032: O2 SENSOR 1/2 VOLTAGE LOW

0137: O2 SENSOR 1/1 HEATER CIRCUIT HIGH

Does that help?

I'm going to take the Neon for a drive to see if those codes come back. Too much energy to sleep. haha

Well it still hasn't come back on, so I guess there was a short. I just rewired it. Gotta solder it when I'm less lazy.

Yeah, I knew what the codes were, thus why the logic of the high and low voltages. If they were hitting each other, one circuit is going to either boost or take away voltage from the other.
