Its been brought up before...
I have a TTi LT header installed on my 03 sohc. I have the upstream o2 sensor installed, but unclipped the downstream. The cel for p0038 shows up for basically having a bad/no cat. Will not having the downstream plugged in harm anything on my car? I.e. mpg or engine wise?

That is the code for the 1/2 o2 sensor circuit. If you plug it back in, you will get the code for a bad converter. You could try the non fouler for spark plugs trick. It is hit and miss.

IIRC, the 1/2 sensor is used for long term fuel trims. How much this impacts an NGC car, I have no idea.
