I think this tire and wheel combo should work...any advice?

New forum user here! This place is an amazing resource!

So after reading the info about tire sizes, here is what I what I have came up with.

I have a 2000 Dodge Neon with stock suspension (suspension was replaced last year with similar to stock components).

I currently am running on the stock wheel and tire size.

I want to put these wheels with 205/40/17 or 205/45/17 tires.

Will this combo work?

Here is the specs for the wheels.

Size: 17x7
Offset: 38mm
Backspacing: 5.55"
Bolt Pattern: 5-100
Rec. Tire Size: 205/40-17
Weight: 21.2lbs.

They'll work.

read up on viewtopic.php?t=48476

I'd go with 215/40/r17's tho.

OK thanks for the info. I was mainly worried about the offset difference.

205/40R17's are tiny. Unless you lower it a LOT, they'll look kind of funny. 205/45, 215/40 and 215/45 are all better choices. Plus those sizes will all ride and drive better.

That would be a pretty neat trick!

Yeah, I will probably go with the larger size of tire. Again, thanks for the help!
