I was privileged enough to have met him twice... and get two autographs. Sure wish that I had more time during those meetings to talk with him at length. He was very generous with his time while signing the autographs though.

The 80's? I watched it in the 60's! LOL

Funny thing is, my dorm mates my first year in college made fun of me for listening to Monkees LPs (1978). Flash forward to the 80's when MTV rebroadcast the television show, and almost all of the LPs made the Billboard charts again.

I watched the Monkee’s on TVLand during the 90’s.

Random fact: David Bowie changed his name when he started to become popular because he didn’t want to be associated with the Monkee’s Davey Jones.

It was more so that he wouldn't be confused with Davy Jones, who was already an established act. Bowie's real name is David Jones.
