Fill out a note stating that the converter was included with the sale, and have it notarized along with the title. That way you are protected in case any future buyer has issues with the cat being deleted.

Under EPA laws, the person that sold the car can be made to replace any missing emissions equipment. As long as they sign off that they accepted it as is, and the missing part was included with the understanding that the buyer would install it, you should be good.

You can't be too careful these days.

I have a new cat on the way. I will have it installed by the end of the week. Hopefully, it will cut a the noise down as well. I might end up keeping this car for a future Srt4 or 2.4 na swap, which was why I was going cheap on the exhaust for now.

That's why we wrap it in tape folks. Can you tell I'm not a fan of zip ties in certain places?

And tape would have kept the foam at the seat bolster from getting torn up. It ain't rocket science. All the detail they put into it, and yet someone still managed to fail.

Those pool noodles aren't fire proof, so what's a little tape going to hurt? I doubt a real race car even uses padding, that's what helmets and being strapped in is for. My guess is the dealer added it, so customers wouldn't bump their heads. The driving school students would've/should've been suited up before entering.

Those Motons though. There's a good amount of money in that car. Seems lame to cheap out on the padding at that point.

I would think you would want the roll cage, etc fully exposed, so checking for any developing defects is a simple visual.

Like I said, if you are properly strapped in, and wearing a helmet, you aren't going to contact the tubing, unless it is a horrendous crash. At that point, it is over anyways.

I get roll bar padding on Jeeps and similar recreational vehicles, because most times you don't have a helmet on and don't have a 5 point harness. You might crack your noggin bouncing about.

But a professional sanctioned car/truck/etc, you aren't moving too much. Other than arms flailing a bit. That meager padding they have isn't going to help much there.

It's a fact of life that the car you built for yourself is not what other people are going to fork over big dollars for. The bulk of the money invested is what you paid to enjoy it. Don't expect others to pay for your fun.
