Chris... So you're saying we should plan ahead.

That's crazy talk!

We should take note the first day of who has what year car and go from 2005 down to 1994.5 with the newest in front (it is 2gn)

Thats a great idea, and we've tried it in the past, but when 1GN's show up late to the photo shoot while the 2GN's are already lined up it gets to be a pain to move cars around.
I personally think we should do the first come first serve idea and start lining the cars up that way. If you show up early, you get farther in front...
The only side effect of this are those who don't have there "Neon" at the show. But it also would get some of the non "Neons" a chance in the spotlight for a change as many members can't bring there 2GN's to the show as there still being built. Or it will allow some of the 2GN members with 2GN swaps done to have there vehicles to be upfront for a change.
Of course trucks and vans would be in the back as the last to line up as they are the biggest vehicles and take up a lot of space that will still show up in the photoshoot.
A few examples of vehicles that should be in the main photoshoot Vs all the way in the back would be Jerry with his "Woody" SRT swapped wagon and Johnny with his SRT swapped Daytona. If they show up late, its there fault. But if they are the first one's there then they would be in front as they are 2GN members with 2GN swapped vehicles.
Now in my personal situation, I don't have a 2GN related vehicle lately but I'm still registered as a 2GN member and I currently have 3 2GN's at home which none are finished yet. Does that mean I could park in front of the other 2GN's because I showed up early, that situation is kind of up in the air...
I like the idea of double stacking vehicles, into a V shape...
A couple years ago we did this when we had so many cars....A certain
photographer came up with the idea and it actually worked out well squeezing all of our members up close to the camera by forming two rows in a V pattern.
The only problem I see is getting members to Co-Operate and move there vehicles back and forth to get it aligned the best we can by having the photographer watching were everyone is lining up and having "ONE" person relaying the info to get the cars lined up while the other person holds vehicles back until the next one is ready to be lined up.
For over 10years we have not been able to get this right and every year we just wing it. It would be nice for a change to have some coordination for the photoshoot Vs showing up and getting planted where ever you can fit.

I can't remember what year it was, but one year, we had the typical V pattern, then a straight row of cars behind each side. I think that was back in the Krackstar years and it was the only way his Escalade with the trailer would fit, haha.

However... my one wish for 2017: LIMBO.

If someone will lend me a set of 14" wheels off of a 1st gen, I will be able to crawl under the damn pavement, haha.

We should definitely do some sort of car limbo again. That was fun!

Also I agree that since most of us don't have neon anymore. Maybe it's best to do first come first serve. What if we parked our cars and did the voting first? Winners to the front and everyone else can fall in line (with trucks/vans in the back so they don't block the view of smaller cars).

The only downside of voting first is the amount of daylight for the photo. Will that be a problem?

Trying to organize the cars in any other way more complicated then it already is would be too much. Remember weather plays alot into this. It's hot, maybe rainy. Most of us don't have Ac in the neon so the last this we want to do is wait around trying to organize the cars in super hot weather that is usually is.

Usually, that's about the only point in the trip where I'm thinking "man I wish I had A/C." The rest of the trip is ok typically.

Of course, sitting at home each year is my nice, relatively-quiet, rain-proof, air-conditioned, comfortable, buttery-smooth-shifting, reliable Neon... but why on earth would I drive that to Carlisle? Noooooo, I have to drive my idiotic, home-brewed, loud, obnoxious, lowered, half-painted, traction-less, bitching hot, god-dammit-what-broke-now Daytona every year.

If it isn't an adventure, of wondering if you will make it back home, what fun is it?

I've got two old Mopars with almost 400,000 miles between them. It's an adventure every time I turn a key, haha.

Now the site has dwindled off so much....
I wonder if we will have a chance to get back the "Best Club Participation" award. 2016 we did not even place Rolling Eyes
Why don't we try to get back this award as we had it in 2014/2015 but lost in horribly in 2016. To win in 2014 we only needed 60 registered members, what they count is registered members and not who actually shows up!
Also note, for those who do not vote at all during the event, the Carlisle staff knows this and if they don't see your registration as a participant for voting your vehicle will not have a chance for any awards.
I received this info last year when I lost against some poof canned sprayed 2000 model Mitsu Avenger.
Anyways.....
Hopefully members preregister before June and if you do show up to the show, make sure you fill out your voting ballets!!!

I will confess to not voting the last few years I attended. If I ever make it back to Carlisle, I will make it a point to vote.

At least we're no longer in the days of wondering if the Harrisburg West will be open.

I should probably book a room.

For the showfield, you can register when you get there, but it's $10 more I think.

Hotel information is in the Facebook group invite. Rooms still available at the discounted rate.
