Haha, okay.

I bought a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 with 71k miles on the odometer for $1,000 about a month ago.

I was told by the seller (who's a mechanic..) that the car wasn't driven in over 3 years (you can see that from the paint, dry rotted window strips, etc). The car was parked all this time because he told me a synchro went out in 3rd and he couldn't get the car to turn over.

I towed the car home, the trip was 4 hours each way. When I got home, I popped the hood and noticed the positive battery cable was very corroded. So I cleaned it up, checked the oil in the motor, and turned it over. Car started right up as the guy put a brand new battery in the car for me.

Now the car wasn't wanting to go into gear. Any gear. So I crawled under the dash and loosened the clutch pedal adjuster, pulled it as far as I could to me, and tightened it back up. Started the car back up and the car was going right into all the gears without any issues.

3rd gear was having some issues going into gear every now and then. But after pulling the battery and tray out, I noticed the car was missing a booger bushing.. So that's an easy fix.

The car's throw out bearing is making some noise so I'm going to pull the transmission this weekend and put a new TOB in and I also have the upgraded fork as well.

All in all, I feel very lucky lol.

That car with the transmission missing entirely is still worth more than that!

Thanks for the heads up, I honestly thought the gate and go deal was over already (being that it's almost June now).

I bought mine tonight and saved 5 dollars with the discount.

SOGGY is just the way to describe it! It was hell. Accidents everywhere, miserable traffic. It was 80+ degrees, you could cut the humidity with a knife, and I was in a leaky T-top car with no A/C driving down I-78 at about 5mph. It took me almost 8.5 hours when it usually takes 6.5.

Friday was a little thin, since all the trailer queens took the day off due to more rain. Luckily Saturday made up for it.

I hope you can make it next year Bill.

Wow, sounds like the one year when it rained a lot- I remember everyone rubbing elbows under the tent, trying to keep dry.

Bumper-to-bumper traffic and my SRT don't mix as the car overheats pretty easily.

I hope that everyone had a good time otherwise. thumbup

Johnny was not kidding,
Friday going from the fairgrounds to the motel I got caught up in some really nasty torrential downpours to where i actually slowed down to 35mph in a 70mph zone and turned my hazards on. This was at night for me at this time and your headlights were not helping one bit.
In Western New York the last time I drove with my hazards on was during a blizzard Shocked
Saturday was hot and muggy.....
This years Carlisle went by way to quick!

Wasn't you there.? You tell us.

Usually when I attend I try to get pictures so post on the forum but since I wasn't there this year then that leaves me out.

Most people don't take pictures anymore like they used to. It's like your either there and see it all in person or you get nothing for not participating. Lol

For most, after the first time or two, taking a bunch of pictures becomes old. Unless it's something that really stands out, I usually don't take a picture of it.

And like Manny, I wasn't there either.
