i can honestly attest to a noticeable power gain, which im obvious glad for. third time's the charm!

can't wait for the new intake manifold, 60mm t/b, and lightweight wheels to go back on.

im going to remove the rear seat, front srt viper seat, and all that spare tire/trunk crap.... it comes to 130lbs roughly which is my weight, so the car comes to about 2700 lbs or even lighter for that matter because i dont have sunroof, leather, etc

im really hoping for a 14.9 at the quarter, ill let you guys know how that goes

the new one rubs more but im going to put more heat wrap on it... the stock wrap actually holds up quite nicely

its wierd my engine seems louder.... i know things like an intake/exhaust manifold, cams, timing, etc can cause the engine to sound different but the engine sounds very mean.... and im currently on the stock t/b and intake (k&n factory replacement filter)
the stock shifter cable wrap didnt last me 2 weeks! see..

2.5 hours to the track, 8 hours of hard lapping, 2.5 hours back. the following week, on fri 1 hour to the track 4 hours of drag racing, 1 hour back. THEN on sat 5 hours road trip - during the road trip my shifter cable took a shit.

trust me.. wrap the fucker really well or you re gonna be underneath cussing @ the car while you re replacing the damn cable. I know I did - THREE TIMES!@#$

i prefer less power, but without the wait... i also love the excellent throttle response from solid mounts and every bolt-on possible (the large-bore throttle body made the biggest difference, but prbably the least power), not to mention the lightweight wheels

Well, I think I'm just gonna do alot of N/A stuff, that will be useful on a turbo application. Like IM, 2.5" exhaust, a LTH, throttle body, maybe a cam, and MS. Then just slap on a turbo and downpipe, tune and go.

lol

I dunno.. i just find the N/A route to be a bit of a pain in the ass. I kept on having relibility issues - car running lean, oil disappearing, gas consumption issues etc etc etc.

frankly I am SO glad I did the srt swap bc the car is MUCH more relible!!

I prefer the bolt-on route, for a daily driver/fun car.

However, i'm not even going as far as a LT or the AFX-R. I'm not THAT concerned with power.

tomorrow morning the entire intake side of the engine is getting a facelift :)

current: stock magnum intake manifold (butterflies removed), stock bellows tube, stock throttle body, and aem intake

tomorrow: lonewolf intake manifold, 60mm MPx throttle body, hacked up AEM intake :)

ill be using my gtech to show gains... as i understand its not the most accurate tool but it is precise, so even though i probably wont get good hp readouts, i can still trust the gains (and losses, hopefully not :)) over the current set up

starting early tomm morning and hopefully get the fuel parts soon thereafter so i can finish up

yes he does AMAZING work

in my opinion his prices were what id consider to be fair considering the excellent quality and workmanship

+1 for lonewolf.... wanna donate a supercharger since im sponsering your name big-time tomorrow when i post pics of the new intake? :)

^^^
Lonewolf has not made a post in the supercharger section in ages....

As for the GTECH, make sure you get your settings perfect, and launch the best you can without spinning the tires...
When I used my Gtech(early one) over a year ago, that thing was just about dead on accurate...

throttle response is now like an on/off switch :) note that i didnt say i felt a gain in power.... i got on it once in 2nd gear but didnt row all the way through since i only went through my neighborhood... ill wait until later tonight (read below)

unlike the magnum intake manifold with the butterflies removed, the powerband is VERY linear.... no more civic si-like powerband. for some reason it seems slower though (just the exact opposite how people say their magnum feels faster with the butterflies removed, when in actuality its just because you have a huge power spike at 5k) but i think thats because the power doesnt just hit you all of a sudden like with the butterflies removed

i couldnt get a single gtech run in this morning because it simply wouldnt stick on the window, eveytime id launch it wall fall off and bounce onto the dash

the intake growl is amazing! im almost afraid to go WOT just because of how loud the intake is (which is why i didnt get on it 100% in my neighborhood when i took it for a drive)

ill report back later tonight

i video is a must! would probley really bark with a 65mm mustang t/b and no fender tubing. a big ass cam would make it cool soundig too!

it looks like the flang might come close to the hood? looks kinda close to the coolent neck?

Its so purdy. I think it would really shine with a ported and polished head along with a cam. I have actually been working on my intake manifold all day today should have pics up in a few days.

the only i didnt go with the 65mm mustang tb that was offered for only $50 more with the intake is because i was uncomfortable doing modifications to a t/b i never had expereince with, i couldnt pull up any information online about what modifications were needed and how to perform them

the flange WAS close to the hood, infact when i first closed it it cut a hole in the flame retardent underhood lining but 20mins and a file got it down to the right size

i havent decided if i want to stay with a fender intake or under the hood yet - to get the AEM intake to fit i actually cut it in half and spun it around, so im actually using it backwards

since i last posted i put the "magnum 2.0" fuel rail cover on and turned it into a short ram intake... it whistles VERY VERY loud during throttle, sounds just like a turbo :)

How much does that intake weigh anyway?
