thinking about letting the neon go..
take it from someone that has owned both a neon and a roush edition stage 2 focus (zx3) keep your neon, the parts are cheaper for the neon, the neon is better looking, and is cheaper for insurance, and a svt doesnt have shit on the stage 2 with cosworth powerstage 2 parts on it and even then was only hitting 185whp, so with just plain bolt ons there is no way a svt is hitting 200whp, the only focus worh gettin is the cosworth RS ( like said before) RWD FTMFW!!! but thats just my .02

I'm with cbjones here man. I had a ford focus and I put a TON of money in mine 10k+ to get mine to I believe my focus with the roush setup like cbjones26 had in his was getting about 189-190whp. It was an overkill that I regret to this day cause they are tempermetal and the parts were retarded expensive to maintain. I blew two pistons out of mine and was looking at about 2500 for the rebuild.cbjones26 wrote:take it from someone that has owned both a neon and a roush edition stage 2 focus (zx3) keep your neon, the parts are cheaper for the neon, the neon is better looking, and is cheaper for insurance, and a svt doesnt have shit on the stage 2 with cosworth powerstage 2 parts on it and even then was only hitting 185whp, so with just plain bolt ons there is no way a svt is hitting 200whp, the only focus worh gettin is the cosworth RS ( like said before) RWD FTMFW!!! but thats just my .02

I just like my neon, don't get me wrong or get mad, but if the opportunity was there, I would get rid of my neon for a honda of almost any year. The aftermarket is HUGE. Many possiblitys and options for swaps, upgrades, etc. And it's cheap.
Eh. Not having a great day, my life is, well, changing in ways I can't seem to understand/cope with. <-So off topic lol

I'm usually all about people getting rid of base model neons to move on. However this isn't an upgrade. If you're emotionally attached to your neon, you're going to regret this.

i wanted one after i bought my 06 roush focus zx3 until i found out the price on it , and then to have it shipped to the us and have all the emission crap on it so it would pass emissions in ny. looking @ over 40k back in 2006 , or so said the dealership i bought my roush car from( think they might have been stretching the numbers a bit though)
this isnt my car but this is what mine looked liked same color same rims, had aborla car back exhaust , roush sts with roush knob, etc.
RS specs
The 2.5L turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine generates 300hp (224kW) at 6,500rpm and 325lb-ft of torque (440Nm)between 2,300 and 4,500rpm. Acceleration from a stop to 100km/h (62mph) takes just 5.9 seconds and the car carries on to a top speed of 263km/h (164mph). Pricing in Europe will reportedly be set at €39,000 ($51,644). Despite the rapid performance, it's fairly efficient, rated at 33.6mpg US (7.0L/100km) extra-urban and 17.5mpg (13.4L/100km) in town for a combined average of 25mpg (9.4L/100km), which translates to an average CO2 emissions of 225g/km. Both are due in part to the relatively low 3,227lb (1,467kg) curb weight.

Yea I don't understand that anyways. MS is only necessary for like, extremem modifications [i.e. turbo, high comp pistons] Which you have none. You HAVE talked about going to turbo. But honestly, you have little to no knowledge on it based on your Forced Induction posts and questions.LowNSlow wrote:I still am not understanding why you need MS to get your Neon to run right.
Is it that modified?
Maybe some general maintenance, eh?
