Pretty good times man for a stock setup. What type/size of street tires were they?

Your shorter tires will help effective gearing on the top end, but make it easier to spin on the bottom end.

With some work you could probably get it into the 13.7-13.8 range with your current setup.

Also, the shorter tires will effect wheel hop. The best option is going to be to get slicks, and they're actually easier on axles than drag radials or street tires. 24.5x8x15 will be a hair shorter than what stock SRT tire sizes are, but a good size to hook with.

Dead hooks are better than having the axle constantly bouncing for the first 60' or however long it is. Both situations can break axles.

Also, slicks have a softer sidewall (and most the time more sidewall), this helps absorb shock.

I heard this for the longest time when I was younger and wondered how the fk it was true.... but basically like frank said.

So now I need 6 rims... 2 for rears regular ole tires...2 for track with slicks. 2 for daily (drag radials)

If you are going with 15" wheels, I'd go for one of the alloy wheels that came on SXTs.

Mickey Thompson and M&H Tires are good brands. I don't know if Good Year makes tires in that size, but I have a personal thing against them so I say avoid Good Years.

I've used M/T tires in a much bigger size and they are great. They last and they bite. I've heard M&H's are really good too.

I used mickey thompson et streets... and I loved them.

Dead hook in my old 500hp Cobra, 5k dump.

Low 1.6 high 1.5 60s.. Smile

Slicks look something like this:

Then they have a et street radial (drag radial)

My buddy Is using m&h slicks. He was able to spin them to a 1.7 60'. John, drs no matter the brand aren't as good for fwd. We can't make them wrinkle as hard. The best 60' I got on drs with my 98 was a 2.0. That was both hook and spinning the hell out of them. They were 205/50/15 bfgs though.

I'd go with the Nitto 555r's for street, they seem to be more streetable.

No 2gn rim will clear the srt front brakes without spacers. Your best bet is pt steelies. I have a set with m/t et drags mounted on them 24.5 8 15. If you have a stock suspension you will need spacers to clear from the strut perch but if you have coilovers than you'll be fine.

Depends on how much wear the pads have. My buddy is using a 5mm spacer up front with new pads to clear stock snowflakes and 7 spokes.
