Thats what I'm thinkin. But still, that would be epic. Shit if christine can supercharge a neon, someone could do a mitsu motor in one.

Its as simple as an avenger head swap and fabing intake and header. I've seen it done on srt can't see where it would be that difficult

Actually I did have a radiator fan but it was pushed all the way to the drivers side. Here is the section of my site that I wrote up on the installation: http://www.gtneon.com/gtneon/oldproject/intake01.html

I didn't actually stick with that intake on the car after I switched over to the HRC Port Fueler I went back to the DOHC Neon intake.

Thank you, David, for the great pics of the install. Very Happy

I suppose that the stratus intake wasn't worth it, then ??
Did you notice any difference in low-end, or was it not worth the loss in top-end ?

The intake was worth it in the beginning because there was a definite gain in low end torque but after the portfueler install it didn't fit due to the extra inch added by the plate from the portfueler. I do plan on using that intake again when I do a 2.4L swap in my 2002 Neon.

I might have to consider putting that intake on my '99 DOHC ATX..... Think Very Happy

i mean in theory ive heard the 2.0 dohc intake is a technical bottle neck for the 2.4 but you can just port and no 90 it and pick that loss up im sure

I think that the runners are a little narrower, too.... but that would help an ATX.

believe it was a tourque number thing cause on the stock stratus there rated 160 or somthing but once it goes on a neon it drops a bit crank wise

to clear this up a little bit. here it goes. oiling systems. pt or srt your only options in the 2g neon of any year. others will more than likely hit our lower torque mount try if you want but its gonna be a lot of work. balance shafts can them i did my car vibrates less with out them in than my old 2.0 sohc did. the pt alt brackets a/c p/s all fit perfectly the p/s does need some work to be nice in the 2g neons. but nothing a trip to the local yard wont fix with factory parts. a/c requires the pt compressor as they are slightly differant. now to confuse this more. you can use the stock 2.0 pulley just fine it fits the same etc.it works the pt accesories just fine. now if your like me and love being close to earth youll find out your axle on the passenger side likes the factory alternator to much. so you relocate it to the front with the stratus mount from 95 to 00. you trim the a/c bracket some and remove the ears from the side bracket that held the p/s. now you might get the stratus p/s back there but i dont care idont have it so what ever. now more confuesing. the stratus 2.4 sohc will not fit as said before but if you do have some dsm friends that own turbo 4g cars this is nice swap for them it gets them more displacement and the abillity to make 500 whp with only a big enough turbo injectors and a special rod piston asssembly thats only like 700. so hopefully i helped. as i have done this swap and say its been the best thing i have ever done to my neon minus the mtx swap.

There really isn't a huge difference in the 1gn and 2gn swap. I mean they are but its not drastic.

The differences I've noticed so far are that you dont need the special motor mount deal but you have to use the srt-4 or pt motor mount plate, and the wiring is different, however im hoping with Ms I wont have to rewire anything. I can just change a few settings.

so you know the wiring on a 2g as far as injector rewire and coil driver re wire is the same flip the coil drivers around and the injectors. 2-1 1-2 3-4 4-3 i think is how i go the best throttle response. theres a thread somewhere that deals with keeping the grouping right. i done mine that way and every other way mine ran the best when swapping the grouping so it was right. so you know.

Nope, the 2.4 is 180 crank degrees off the 2.0. The NGC 2.0 is the same as the 2.4 however. So that means that the injectors get moved one position forward. 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 1. Being wasted spark, leave the spark plug wires alone, and invert pins 1 and 3 going to the coil. If going from an NGC 2.0 to an NGC 2.4, change nohing.

Or if you want to be really slick you can repin the fuel injector pins on the connector to the ECU so it doesn't even look like you did anything.
