Dodge Neon Basic Maintenance Parts- Part Number List
-This is for the 2.0L engine.
-Prices first came from PepBoys, then NAPA, then Kragen/O'Reilly.
-K&N prices came from their direct order site.
-I understand that certain places may have these parts for cheaper than listed (Wal-Mart and Summit Racing come to mind).
-These are all direct replacement parts; i.e., no larger oil filters (Viper style) and so on.

There are many people who had problems with platinums, even double platinums.
You are certainly in the minority.

Hmm. Either way, I wouldn't put a platinum plug in a Neon anyways whether they worked or not, and most certainly not an iridium plug. The factory plugs that are in there now, the RC9YC, are still in great condition and at the factory gap I set after 30,000 miles. Since I made this thread simply for reference, I put everything that is fairly common to come across in the lists.
Although most would not use platinums in a Neon (what's a good reason to?) it's nice to have the numbers posted anyway.
Here's a couple more parts to replace once in a while:
Crankcase Vent or make up air filter as Chrysler calls it and PCV valve. The CCV filter is on the left.
Where the filter goes:
And what one after 105k looks like compared to a new one:
The PCV valve probably has after market replacements, the CCV has no after market listing I can find, but you easily could get one for another application and cut it to fit.

Yeah, I just didn't get that far into it because those are generally a one part replacement from most places; i.e., not many choices, usually one. I do need to replace my CCV filter. Mine looks all shriveled up and orange too, lol. I just very recently replaced my PCV valve with an aftermarket one. The CCV has a couple of aftermarket pieces too. Just depends on the store. How much for those two Dodge parts, if you remember?

It probably depends. I've been using platinum for years which I didn't know until throw the NGK copper things into it. Never have any problem. But of course now I'll stick with copper things.racer12306 wrote:There are many people who had problems with platinums, even double platinums.

I heard that double platinum or platinum iridium (mixture?) plugs are ok. true?
This thing CCV filter for 00 is in different shape, it has a white box with some foam in it, and you can take it off... but actually put a breather on the valve cover will be ok and give your engine bay a nice looking.04R/T wrote:Crankcase Vent or make up air filter as Chrysler calls it and PCV valve. This thread should be sticky!

what, no PULSTARS? I run NGK Iridiums, I am not sure what the issue is?
That is like saying putting anything better than a Fram oil filter is a waste...it is just a neon after all. Air filter??? just wad up some Charmin and stuff it in the air box.

Sorry for being a bit of a novice but that piece of foam is called? CCV? what does that stand for? Its gets pretty black is that carbon? I do wash mine regular but it is orange like that...can I just gt any old piece of foam to replace it or does it require a special type??
I drove My Neon till it "SOLD" And then bought a Mazda 3 Skyactiv

CrankCase Vent I believe.
The black is probably oil.
A piece of foam should do.

NGK iridium runs good. I switch from V-power which has a comparably short life to those iridium. Little smoother idle and nothing really happen. But their life is much longer.Jerome Adams wrote:what, no PULSTARS? I run NGK Iridiums, I am not sure what the issue is?

I won't ever put $100 for spark plugs only, even if they lower price to $50, though they are some decent stuff...
Fram oil filter is garbage not like champion sparks which is "good", just compare the pics below:

It is simply a PN reference chart, if you don't like a particuliar brand/material, don't use it.

I'm wondering if you guys have a list of dodge parts. I'm looking for a new exhaust for my Dodge and some engine parts as well. Thanks.

Meh, I got 30,000 out of Bosch Platinum +4's and prolly could have went more. They held up better than the copper I currently have. Just regapped them 2500 miles ago, and they are already beginning to miss under load. Maybe 15000 miles on them. Going iridium next. For what it takes to keep copper in it, I'm money and time ahead. Especially at 5º F outside.
