Went to atco tonight

Post by white2000neon » Tue Nov 21, 2006 10:53 pm

Well i went to atco tonight and managed a best time of 15.88 with a 2.3 60' at 86mph i dont have the slip in front of me but ill post a break down of it tomorrow. The first run i bogged really bad where it almost stalled out and pulled a 16.12 with a 2.6 60' at 87mph. I know the car has a 15.5 in it i just have to lay it down with maybe a 2.1 60' which will be tricky on street tires. On my best run i dont think i was shifting to good because i was to busy paying attention to how much i was beating my buddy by. I have video i can post if you guys want me to. Next time i go ill have my lth on and can hopefully trap somewhere around 90mph. BTW i was getting bad wheelhop and i have race inserts for my top and lower mount with the stock tranny mount. What could be the cause of this the stock tranny mount maybe. Thanks.

I have almost exact same setup when I ran my 02 acr - no lth though, and now I sport a comp 400 cam. My time is in my signature - I had massive wheel spin, not hop. I would suggest a tranny mount or solid dog-bone mounts.

You need a cam to take advantage of your mods. Since you spent the money on the AFX-R I would suggest a 14 or more with corresponding mods to compression.

:withstupid:

Yeah, with those mods and the afx/r you can take advantage of the crane 14 upper power range.

Question, how did you get the afx to work with your magnum engine? I thought the afx does not work with the magnum engines?

Yea a crane 14 is next on my mods list, just put in the lth today. The afx does work on the magnum motor it just doesn't control the secondaries on the intake manifold. Since i have a box style intake it really doesn't matter because i have no secondaries. If you have the magnum intake manifold just get a rpm activated window switch and i think you need a tach adaptor. Or just yank the secondaries out.
