GB?

Another thing I could mess with is methanol or E85. I would want MS to tune that.

looks like your going to be getting MS no matter what the hell you do. you have the broadest horizon everything from n/a to meth to turbo to e85 lol

and how available is e85 in maryland??? i dont see much of it

I'm told there is a station in laurel. I don't know if the track sells it or not.

If they don't, since I live an hour from Laurel, I will probably just mess with methanol. Plus I'm pretty sure my dad still has 30 or so gallons left over. Should still be good since it hasn't been opened.

My goal is to get on the damn track. turbo would be far down the road, if at all. Bracket cars generally don't use a form of forced induction because minor changes in the weather affect a turbo or supercharged engine more than an n/a engine.

when the air is really good, you compress a bunch of good air. but when the air is bad, it compresses a bunch of bad air. you can see this really well in Canada/Silversport's dyno runs.

ahh ok. maybe you should try the methanol out.

and an hour from you is a bit far just for getting gas for race day as i imagine this isnt going to be a daily d.

I was going to switch to E85, until I found out the place in Laurel no longer has it :-(. You'd have to go to Annapolis or Rockville to get it. Maybe with all these "alternative fuel" BS laws they want to pass, we can get E85 out of it.

E85 will probably go away soon, some local university is starting to mass produce a way to convert dried Grass as in like your lawn into gasoline. Its not some different fuel like E85 its actual gas in every chemical makeup so straight to your car.

But E85 > gas :(

And no, I'm not driving to Annapolis or Rockville just to get some damn fuel. I am around there so I could make it work, but it's not like I could buy a barrell of it at a time since when I'm in those area's I'm in the Prius. Couldn't imagine a Prius with a barrell hanging out the back lol.

Looking at it further, our only option is Annapolis. Laurel/Ft Meade are the same address, and they don't sell it anymore. Baltimore and Rockville are Gov't only ones.

This is WEAK.

Oh yes there is. Around here:
E85 $1.87/gallon

Alcohol produces more power. Race gas would be pointless.

Methanol = $2.50 (last I knew, may be $3.00 now)

Plus it would be different. Besides, theres probably 30 gallons sitting at my dad's.

ya but E85 has less energy density then pump gas so you have to use alot more of it...

and jet fuel would probably produce more power, so alcohol is pointless lol jk I like race gas because you put it in and dont have to worry about filling up your meth or if your pump fails or anything like that. E85 is good for the street when your going through a tank a week but a tank a race season... i dont see the benifit, plus the extra expense of bigger injectors needed to run it probably offsets the cost you will save on a drag only car.

I mean use methanol as its primary fuel. Not as a methanol injection system.

I bet a set of Stage 0's aren't too bad in cost. Granted, I haven't researched it.

yes, the energy density is lower. but even using twice the E85 than GT104 its still cheaper, but really cost of the fuel isn't a big concern in this project.

That and a small fuel cell would reduce the need to have 5 gallon or so in the tank to ensure adequate supply for the pump, if you decide to do a fuel cell. It would help keep the fuel fresher, by reducing the amount of air exposure.

Even tho it was a joke...
Jet fuel is fancy kerosine, so it wouldn't do much for a race engine, unless he went diesel, and even then it would prolly take some expensive mods to work. I'm sure it prolly has been done.

yeah, i was thinking about that after i came up with the original list. could get bouncy hitting a bump going down the track.

thus the change to using partial springs for minor dampening. won't need a lot since it will only be for drag racing and most of the time bumps are too bad on a drag track.

It looks like I'm not going to be able to complete this plan. I would really like to see someone use these ideas to get a car on the track for cheap to see if it works.

I'm aiming to get rid of the Neon and the Monte and grabbing a 4th Gen F Body.

no need to lock. Lets keep the discussion going. Could help someone get a car on the track for cheap.

My goal was to run 13s for $1500
