Thus begins the journey of my new car.... The trip home can be found Here.

The Goal:
Create a clean, low, and practical 'tuner'. This car will be slow as balls, but have utility. Any audio equipment installed will be pure stealth and look stock. The interior will be VIP inspired but be useful, and the exterior shall only be as flashy as the name-brand 'Scion' itself.

The Starting point:
2006 Scion xB
•23,xxx Miles
•Polar White
•5 Speed
•Factory Spoiler
•Full Scion alarm system
•TYC Factory Tail lights
•Dealer-installed Rostra Cruise
•Dealer-installed Green Neon Accent Lighting
•Dealer-installed Carbon Fiber Accent Kit
•Dealer-installed Carbon Fiber and Blue Shift Knob
•$10,700 purchase price. $8,300 financed through my bank at 3.99% APR for 3 years.

The Initial Plan (Stage 1):
•Fully debadge USDM badges ✔
•Factory 'Candied' OEM Tails ✔
•Remove all fake carbon fiber
•Color match some interior parts
•OEM fogs ✔
•Get the car to body shop for insurance repairs ✔
•In-dash Nav, Bluetooth, iPod, DVD Headunit ✔
•Clean up engine ✔
•Paint engine cover.... cover

All cheap and easy things to do. Thus far, the following has been ordered/is already here:
•OEM Tails (Will arrive second week of April) INSTALLED 4/11
•OEM fogs (Will arrive April 2nd) INSTALLED 4/02
•'Special' Shift knob (Ordered) INSTALLED 4/03
•Pioneer AVIC-X910BT & all installation accessories (All arrived by March 31st) INSTALLED 4/10
•bB front Badge (Ordered) INSTALLED 4/02

I'm in contact with someone at a body shop to HOPEFULLY get my car in soon. Insurance is covering the damages no problem, I just have to find the time to take the car up to get fixed.

Today (April 1st) was debadge day:

There's still a TON of dirt around where the badges sat. I plan to either claybar those areas, or have the body shop take car of it when I take the car in. Now I just gotta decide what to do with the badges... hm.

^Headunit is ready to go in. I plan to do this AFTER the car comes back with the bodyshop. I want ample time to ensure i've fully secured and hidden what i can.

Future plans!
Exterior:
•D2 or Ksport Coilovers (same exact thing, just different colors)
•Roof rack with basketcase and bike mount accessories
•Repainted steelies w/white beauty ring and cap
•BSP grill (black for non-scion folks)
•Possibly tinted windows
•Chrome or black trim accents
•Stickers. Lots, and lots, and lots of them

Interior:
•Clazzio White & Black leather seat covers
•Elemental Design 10" Under the seat subwoofers
•Elemental Design amp
•Elemental Design speakers
•D.A.D Rear view mirror
•D.A.D Neck pillows
•Other D.A.D Interior Accents
•White LED accents
•Argyle Door Inserts
•Black headliner/pillars

Engine:
•CAI (for improved gas mileage)
•Cat-back exhaust (Sound only)

No idea when or if my future plans will happen, but that's my goal thus far. Another big issue is getting the car paid off ASAP. If I work my ass off and focus, it can be modded and paid off within a year and a half. Plans can sometimes change however!

I swear those open-decked Scions are tits.

I can't wait to see mad progress on this Josh. Hopefully you don't order a new header or something awesome that starts a snowball effect of failure for this car ROFL

I never even know those existed. Shocked

that shits pimp

and there will be NO performance parts for this car. Fuck that. I'm done. CAI and cat-back are even fucking questionable at this point. Stereo parts are being as hidden as possible to prevent break ins, and there's already a nice alarm installed on the thing.

I will not let this become another horrible headache Laughing

You're not even planning on buying wheels for it? Sad

If you're worried about break ins, why do so much to the exterior? (i.e. "lots of stickers")

I think some spoked wheels and a good 2" drop would look legit.

Not until next year, no. I plan to rock the 'fancy' steelies this year as a money saver.

I'm not so much worried about breaks ins, as in, worried about them actually getting anything out of it. A broken window is easy to fix, however, it's fucking annoying to have the wires ripped out from your speakers and laid about. Evern my headunit will have a false face on it

I think a 3rd Gen. xB got a turbo and made like 240hp. I was very impressed, even though you aren't going that way, I thought I'd share what I heard lol.

You're thinking of 2nd gen. There is no 3rd -yet-. They've only released the concept photos of it recently.

The 2.4 sounds to be a pretty nice motor actually, and a small part of me wanted a 2nd gen for the motor alone. However, practicality wins over all

Ah, must of been the 2nd Gen. I couldn't remember what generation it was, so I just guess'd third... ROFL

You are rockin' stock steelies, are you leaving the hub caps? Plans on getting aftermarket lugs at all? To perhaps "set off" the steelie look...

Hubcaps will be sanded down and painted white just for shits and giggles. Maybe do something stupid to them.

For the 'photoshoots' I plan to be rocking a body color beauty ring, center cap, and grab some colored lugs. Maybe gold, maybe chrome. I wont decide until the car gets slammed.

Perhaps due to my past association with boxes. Laughing

w00t! bB badge and factory fogs came in. Only about an hour and a half to install everything, thanks to my dumbass not completely following instructions. It would of been a 45 minute job MAX. Ah well.

Pics!

I'm really tempted to go badge-less because of how AWESOME these holes are:

Fogs popped in:

Factory harness already there!

OEM switch:

We have light!

Oh, and I need to detail the FUCK out of the interior of the car. Crawling around under the dash showed me all sort of shit:

Depending on when I go to a cookout tomorrow, I may just clean the shit out of it then. Really, it's fucking disgusting how parts of the interior are. Damn people and their inability to detail. I wont bother with the body until it comes back from paint though. Who knows, the shop might be nice and clean it for me Laughing

Also, good news! Car is getting dropped off at the body shop Sunday night. They have the insurance estimate, and will be looking at the sideskirt and giving me an estimate on fixing that damage as well. Hopefully I'll have the car back by next Friday. Rock ON

Still waiting on my title though so I can register the damn thing. 1-2 more weeks of waiting. Sad

I love boxes. My buddy has a japanland header, and a custom exhaust setup he made. I'm not sure about the total gains, but it does look mighty impressive. I love the sound of these little motors. If I bought one, it'd be the same. Lowered, with wheels, and a badass stereo.

Can you get me the info of his piping, maybe a sound clip someday? Eventually I want the car to be loud, but not for a little bit.

New shift knob came in! wewt!

Chrome Plated Aluminum Billet Knob, w/Glow in the Dark Spider Topper!

I'm rather sad that it doesn't sit 100% straight when fully tightened, but I'll live. I just need to adjust the shift boot now to hide more of the rod.

Also, ordered a fuck ton-o stickers from ihatestickers.com today. Man modding cars is more fun when you do it in a ridiculous fashion.

March 30th, so Tuesday. Not to shabby of turn around and the knob is goddamn high quality.

I think I'm going to buy a few more knobs over time from them. Nice people to deal with.
