Rear sway bar brackets - Sold out

Post by daaboots » Thu Apr 19, 2007 10:49 am

Update Oct 20, 2008 - Sold out.

Daaboots Rear Sway Bar Brackets
I noticed that there are no rear sway bar adapter brackets that let you utilize the factory sway bar end-links when using a factory sway bar. You either need to piece something together using the Mopar brackets or buy an after market sway bar.

I came up with the following adapter. The brackets will use the two bolts that connect the struts to the knuckles to hold them in place, same as the Mopar ones. The brackets are made from 1/4 inch steel. These brackets will work with camber bolts.

Price for a set (two brackets) is $50 shipped!!

Here are some pics and a video of the brackets being machined.

The parts will come painted black, or I can leave them bare metal if you wish to powder coat them. I will warranty the brackets against all defects for 3 months. My warranty policy is full refund (not including shipping costs) or a replacement (not including shipping costs). This bracket has not been tested with a sway bar larger than 19mm so I will not warranty the brackets if you use something larger.

Legal Disclaimer
These rear sway bar adapter brackets have not been designed or tested by a qualified engineer and carry no certification by any government automobile agency. By installing these brackets, you assume full legal responsibility for any negative outcome resulting from using these brackets.

I'll be interested when you'll put some pics installed. Do they brace on only one bolt of shocks?

BTW, what's the price in canadian dollars?

Thanks!

Yes I realize that the guy over on neongoodies sells an adapter, but my adapter is geared towards people using a factory sway bar with factory end-links. The picture above will not work on a factory sway bar because the connector is horizontal whereas factory sway bars require a vertical connector.

I'll take some pics tonight to show how they'll connect to the strut and the sway bar in order to clear things up.

Thanks for the interest. That price is US dollars. The price may vary depending on shipping costs but i'm hoping to sell them between 30 and 35.

It will use both bolts on the shocks. The other bolt hole is hidden in the picture.

What is the benefit of these over the 1st gen Mopar ones available for $13-$14 a piece versions?

Not doggin' your pieces. I am curious because I am ordering them from Mopar but prefer to support Neon owners first.

The benefit of these brackets is the fact that you can use factory end links with the factory sway bar. If you have an aftermarket sway bar I’d suggest you get the Mopar brackets (or neongoodies)

I think the pics I’ll put up tonight will clarify a lot of the questions.

I have no bar right now. I keep scratching around for front or rear used ones like Hotchkis or Eibach or at least a stock rear from an ACR or at least an SRT or whatever but I can't seem to find one close enough to where I live. I have all the hardware to mount it, just need the tabs and the bar with endlinks.

I was thinking about putting together complete kits but wasn't sure if anywone would be interested. Shipping a sway bar from Canada is not cheap.
TNK wrote:what are these gonna cost? or did i overlook that?
I was thinking around $35 US shipped.

The only thing really holding me up right now is liability issues. I don’t want someone to turn around and sue me because my brackets somehow caused and accident or something (although I’m not sure how this is even possible). I’m thinking about putting a warning label on them saying I assume no responsibility for accidents or injury, but I’m not sure if this would be good enough. If anyone else has dealt with issue and has some good input, please get in touch with me.

Hey man, i'd be very interested in a complete set, since i threw out my sway bar when i got my air ride, due to it not having a bracket. And now that i see this, i'm kicking my self for throwing it out.

Anways, if you can find a complete sway bar set up, along with your custom brackets, could you get a price for me? You'd be best to ship it greyhound(to Banff, Alberta), and it should be pretty cheap.

Let me know what you think.

Update: Well there seems to be enough interest in the brackets and even some complete kits. Unfortunately, I've been so busy with house renovations and other issues that I haven't have the time to make any of the brackets. I'll keep everyone updated as my schedule unfolds.

for myself, i mean a set of brackets. i think im going to hit a yard to check for a sway bar.

you might be able to put a disclaimer like, because of the designed intention of the part there is no expressed or implied warranty. dont know if that would cover you completely, but its something to check into.

Hi everyone. This project is on hold for now. With all my house and lawn work plus getting my car ready for car shows and events, I simply don't have the time to make them. This might turn into a late summer / early fall project.

I've been using the brackets for about 5000 KM now and no issues. No cracks, bends, or any other problems.

Thanks for the interest everyone.
