2004 Dodge Neon SXT

Post: #1   PostPosted: Sat Jun 27, 2015 10:00 am    Post subject: What to do? Reply with quote

Hi,

I have a 2004 dodge neon sxt. On the driver side rocker panel below the door is all rusted out like literally gone rusted. The frame where you use a spare tire jack stand to jack it up is also rusted pretty bad. I don't know to much about cars but is this rust pretty much a totaling of the car? or can this be fixed.

Thank you!

Surely it might be possible to get it fixed. Either buy a spare part for lots of money or find a good mechanic, able to weld any fitting plate in.
You have to find such a guy anyways.

I'm not sure if they make patch panels like that for our cars, it's possible. Shops that do restoration on old cars would be a good place to go, they deal more with repairing rusted rocker panels than regular body shops.

I really do hope I can. I am worried the rust is going to total the car. the engine only has 78k on it! plus its my first car. however I really do dislike dodge after getting a 2011 ford fusion v6 lmbo. but the fusion has 95k on it.

I paid 9k for the neon so, I hope so. Its raining where I am right now or I would upload a picture for you guys to see.
