I've got a rebuilt 03 neon se. Idk much about the swapped engine. But I'd like to. Hopefully asap, swap it for a 2.4L engine. Does anyone know of a place in Washington state where I can purchase and/or have installed a 2.4 egine?
Any help very appreciated!
Thanks!!

You're going to have a really hard time getting any shop to install a different engine than the one that came out. There are plenty of yards to pull a 2.4, though. You're going to want one out of a 2003 or later PT cruiser, or any other 2.4 equipped car or van. Various mounts and some wires will need to be changed. It's not exactly a plug and play swap.

I suggest you do some forum searches first to see what you're getting into before committing.

Is it an emissions legal swap? Only 100% if you do a complete SRT-4 swap, in stock form, or with CARB exempt parts.

Since the 2.4 was never installed in N/A form in a neon, it may not be 100% legal.

Now this doesn't mean it won't pass a smog test, but it just may not be legal, according to EPA guidelines.

And that is part of the reason why you may have a tough time getting a professional shop to do an N/A swap, let alone a legal SRT-4 swap. They are not going to risk their license to do business, or a huge fine.

The other reason is most people don't want to mess with anything that is not totally "within the box".

There's no shop manual for that kind of swap.
