Re: Project 2002 ACR

The damage to the valves are in banks 3 and 4. But the scratch is in bank 2. It definitely looks like it's been there for a while. From what I know about the car the timing belt snapped on the original owner. He had a new timing belt, and tensioner installed. For obvious reasons it ran like crap. So...

Re: Project 2002 ACR

Finally got some time to tear into the engine. As predicted there is some valve damage. Block bores look better than I feared except one has a somewhat deep scratch. https://i.imgur.com/UtXygsY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GOWV8zx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qqXHdoY.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/nPvKLwy.jpg

Re: Project 2002 ACR

Yes, I will start doing the same. Always my favorite neon seats. They cleaned up extremely well. Washed them on delicate twice and dried them on delicate as well. The foam will need some repair but really happy with them so far. https://i.imgur.com/yuEqFTB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wB6EJVo.jpg On the ...

Re: Project 2002 ACR

So I have been having a hard time finding a replacement seat for the drivers side. All the ones I have found are to far gone. I found a 2002 ES with a decent passenger side seat at a pull yard. I took apart the drivers side and will use the framing with the ES foam and upholster. Thankfully the 2002...

Re: Project 2002 ACR

I would love to say I am further with the project as I am. But with everything else I decided to tackle the smell situation. The car is covered with dog hair, urine, and food in every nook and cranny. I took the carpet off and the flooring was all yellow. Cluster Shield and AC controls are broken so...

Project 2002 ACR

Sad that no one really visits the site anymore. So I wanted to share a little and maybe get some opinions. I picked up a 2002 ACR a few weeks back that would love to save. Very possible that it has bent valves and some body damage in the rear. Will need a full paint job as well. First on the list is...

I'm running 225-45-17 tires on 17x7 35mm offset wheels and standard neon struts. I had to run 5mm spacers to clear the strut perches. I also have my rear fenders rolled. I guess it also depends on the tires. Some are more rounded and some are more square. It will be very tight

Thanks.

Thank You everyone. I still have the car. The would be local buyer ended up walking into a Ford dealership and trading in his old Mustang for a new Mustang V6. He said he saw that the V6 Mustang is faster then the SRT4. But not before he made me strip down the car to buy down the price. Leavi...

I think i'm the only Neon enthusiast on the entire island. You don't see any other then the occasional rusted up beat up bucket. The challenger is not my cup of tea but still like the car. Everyone has one around here though. Drive 5 minutes and you are guaranteed to see one. Years ago it was the Ho...

Thank you everyone for the opinions. I really wish I could remove the plate but in NYC it will not take long before getting pulled over. Opinions on my SRT8

Getting ready for Carlisle and asking for some opinions. I'm really fresh out of ideas on what to do. The car is currently tuned with a diablo tune, resonator have been removed, and an cold air intake is on it's way. But what about the looks? I'm going to get my taillights retinted and painting the ...

Those were gone years ago.

Just put on new Tokiko blues with stock R/T springs. Leak on Transmission has been fixed, and every polly bushing is on except the two control arm ones on each side.

New Price $8,000 or best offer.

As far as using SRT4 springs with standard height perch struts it's a perfect drop if you ask me. I have been running it for close to seven years. 2001 ACR Struts and 2004 SRT4 springs. http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc217/adam45469/Dodge%20Neon/I...

I probably could have explained it a little better. But here is a photo of mine when I painted them years back. If you look at the outer shaft notice how thick it is. No real room for the bump stop. This is why they put it in internally I guess. The inner shaft is not visible but I was explained tha...

The 2nd gen ACR struts have internal bump stops? For certain? I swapped mine out so long ago I just may not remember. If so, sorry for the misinformation Nick. Yes. As far as know they are internal. I have a set on my car and don't have external bump stops either. The reason I think they can not pu...

If you are still on stock ACR struts your bump stops are internal. Seeing how the struts are inverted I don't know how good of an idea it would be to put them in. I'm sure they would not damage the strut but would get eaten up fairly fast. Now if you put in regular struts yes you should put them in ...
