I had a Mopar one go bad within a few months. Just being honest (since everyone knows how I feel about OEM parts).

Re: 2005 Dodge Neon Srt4

Wow, even less modded than David's car. C'mon, I left stock status years ago. :laughing6: Such a bummer that the front plate holder was screwed into that bumper. True. Probably the only positive thing that resulted from my accident years ago is the fact that the body shop put a new front cl...

Replacing the axle seals is a good idea while you have everything apart. I had mine replaced at the dealership when I bought new axles a few years back.

Jerry, you had a double post so I deleted the second one. Hope that was okay.

I'm glad that you are "adopting" these Neons. Too many other people don't think of them as anything special but you do so they will get good care.

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

Okay, I finally bought a Deltran Battery Tender (the manufacturer recommended model 021-0128 for an SRT-4). The instructions are very general and aren't specific to this model, no photos or diagrams. I figured out that I needed to pull the cap off the harness with the alligator clips to insert the w...

Re: Random posting

I'm not sure of the Equinox's fate, whether it will be fixed or replaced. I'm still struggling with the paperwork that I have to turn in and have discovered that I will have to trek across town to the body shop to retrieve the rest of my personal items from the vehicle (especially my mileage log for...

Re: Random posting

My work vehicle was rear ended at a red light this afternoon while I was on the job. After the crash, there were fumes coming from the dash so I'm wondering if the collision somehow affected the airbag system (which would be strange since the front of the vehicle wasn't touched). I wasn't able to im...

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t

Way off-topic here but, since emissions testing has been mentioned, Indianapolis used to do voluntary emissions testing annually on Earth Day and the only Neon I had tested was the stock 1995 Highline I had. It passed with flying colors. I looked into voluntarily having the emissions on the SRT with...

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t

Mufflers? I wonder what would have happened there with my car there stock since since SRT's didn't come with a muffler. My main concern with having the Mopar (Borla) exhaust and Stage 2 mods is being able to pass emissions testing if my state ever resurrects annual inspections.

Re: ducktapetg's 98 r/t

Interesting read about the steering rack. I had the rack in my SRT replaced a few years back and was told that it was the last new SRT rack available. In fact, the selling dealership in California refunded the core charge without my sending a core as they said that FCA wasn't going to rebuild them a...

I sure wish that I could do something like that. Other than the two attempts at the autocross at Carlisle several years ago, I've never had an opportunity to drive my car anywhere but a public street.
