Re: Random posting

I hate seeing my old vehicles on the road. I drove next to my old ACR a few times and it killed me. It was torture.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Since FPRs go for almost $200, I've been on the lookout for a cheaper option. I ended up purchasing an entire 50,000 mile SRT fuel pump setup from Vitor on the .org for $100. I plan to pop the regulator off that assembly and swap it into the Neon. That should take care of the hard start and it gives...

Re: Random posting

That's a bummer. I still have my wrecked R/T sitting in my driveway. I need to get rid of it, but it has so much invested under the hood that I'm having trouble letting go.

Re: Random posting

Neons definitely don't like being hit in the rear. Or from any angle, for that matter. I'm glad you were in the work vehicle.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Good to know. I'll update when I get a chance to mess with it. Also, keep in mind the car is Stage 2, so it has larger injectors that are better suited for the tune. I don't think Stage 2 cars have the lean issue that stock cars do. I've been looking at widebands for a while and I don't know which o...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Right now it has a canned Diablo 93 tune, 3" catted DP, 2.5" cat-back, 55mm TB, and a slightly larger front mount. He has some dyno graphs for it, but I don't know if he gave them to me. I don't think he did. I have images of them in a text conversation, though. The power came on strong until about ...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

I'm pretty sure it's the FPR. Premium gas only. Aside from the hard start (which is mostly better if I let the pump prime before cranking it over) things seem pretty normal. The bad mileage is probably because my drive is all back roads with lots of stop lights. I highly recommend these Continental ...

Re: Water Leak

Mine does the same thing and I don't even have a sunroof. I suspect there are drain passages under the cowl that need to be cleared of debris, because that's where it comes in.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

The car has been hard to start lately. After some reading, I think it's the fuel pressure regulator. My gas mileage has been shit, too. I don't know if they're related.

I ordered a new PS belt because mine is squeaking when cold and it's driving me nuts. I really hope it's not the tensioner.

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Contrast! I like the color a lot better than the white, but I prefer the design of the RPF1s. The darker rims tie the headlights in a lot more, which looks nice.

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

I think it was Hella, that used a black object in the housing, that when looking at the light assy, made the reflector appear black, but had zero impact on light output. A much better approach, but probably not going to happen for under $80. Hella Black Magic lights. I have a set on my Jeep. They l...

Re: Help me to pick a new car

It's just a boring car IMO. The Infinity has decent power and the Mazda 6 is known as a fun car to drive. Both cars are decent to look at. The VW is kind of stale in comparison.

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Jeremy, very nice! Was that your old ACR? Yes. It was my baby. Then I had a baby and I wanted to buy a house, so I sold it. That was eight years ago. I like the stickers. I was looking at the same ones for my RPF1s. Before I PlastiDipped them, I was going to paint mine grey and put dark red decals ...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

It's not a performance part. Leave it alone. LOL, the same could be said for side markers. I paint them so they blend in, which is the opposite of slapping a sheet of carbon on a fuel door. I don't like random stuff to stand out like that. Smooth is better. White side markers FTW. https://i.i...

Good numbers!

I totally agree with the CF gas cap rant. I have no idea why anyone wants a black/CF/chrome polka dot on the side of their car. It's not a performance part. Leave it alone.

Re: Weird valve rattle?

When I think of "rattle" I don't think of valve noises. Maybe it's just semantics on my part, but I'd be looking for loose parts and worn motor mounts. Noisy lifters are also a common issue with these cars.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Yes, the SRT has the ATX light source. That's what I connected my light to. So what is the history on the car from the previous owner when it comes to maintenance major? Clutch/timing belt etc etc Curious what kind of boost leaks you find. That is always fun, hunting those things down  The...

Make sure the CAI isn't touching the hole that it goes through in the frame. Also double check all of your header bolts. Make sure they're tight.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

The car leaks oil, trans fluid, and boost like crazy. My first fix was the transmission leak, because it was the easiest to fix. It was coming from the end plate. Here's what it looked like when removed: https://i.imgur.com/C8PHUwal.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Igr46h0l.jpg About a dozen small bolts hold...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

It's really easy to hook up if you ever find one in a junkyard. All manual Neons have the power source under the shifter, for the light in the auto shifter. All you need to do is snip off the bulb holder and connect the wires to the cubby light wires and then run them up, behind the cubby. The wires...
