Re: Random posting

I traded the Durango for the Journey. They didn't give me much, but it helped.

Re: Finally got 19's

I didn't realize non-Neon images need to go in Off-Topic. Oh well. Someone can move this if they feel like it.

It's a 2018. It has a six-speed auto in it. I think it's the same one that's in my wife's 3.6 Caravan. They feel very similar.

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Not only that, but Carbon By Design (who makes the trunklids) doesn't do automotive parts anymore. They kept a few molds around for Modern Performance because they sold so much of their stuff. I don't see that lasting very long, honestly.

Re: Finally got 19's

This one is missing navigation (still has the 8.4" touchscreen with Uconnect), heated seats, remote start, and a sunroof. I think it has all the other options. The only feature I really wish it had was remote start, because it's so handy in the winter. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with it. ...

Re: Random posting

No, it was a good old 4.0 inline six gas engine. The Durango is gone now too. Check out the Picture Post forum for pics of the new ride.

Re: Finally got 19's

Notes from the new car. 1. It's strange getting used to a backup camera. I don't trust it yet. 2. I still haven't figured out the boundaries of the vehicle. I find myself parking crooked because of this. 3. I don't like automatic transmissions. 4. I think the turning radius is better than the Neon. ...

Re: Finally got 19's

These things weigh north of 4000 pounds, so that 2.4 is particularly gutless in them. I had to have the 3.6.

Finally got 19's

Say hello to my new DD. https://i.imgur.com/nlnA9Jjl.jpg And check out the only issue with it. Kind of funny for those of you who know my struggles with headlights. https://i.imgur.com/rMhg08Cl.jpg I plan to debadge it and then just drive it. Maybe a K&N filter or something. It's just broken in with...

Re: Random posting

The Durango had a bad ground. We found it and had it fixed pretty quick. The Jeep finally sold yesterday. It was bittersweet. It had been in the family since new and I'd owned it for more than a decade. It was well loved, but it just wasn't used anymore. Plus, the freeze plugs started leaking a year...

Re: Random posting

I got my Durango back on the road just in time for our first snow. It's handling the weather like a champ. Meanwhile, the Neon takes a nap in the driveway. I'm trying to sell my Jeep XJ. I keep getting low-balled and it's driving me nuts. At the same time, I need it gone, so I may cave to the lower ...

I do like the way they tie in the carbon pieces. I don't like how cheap they look compared to the OEM tails. It's kind of a toss-up.

Re: Random posting

Ugh. It's supposed to snow today and all next week. Temps in the low twenties for a day or two. My Durango died and I have "extreme summer performance" tires on the Neon. I'm also out of PTO at work, so staying home will literally cost me. I have a mechanic friend coming over this weekend to check o...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

As of January 2020, there will be no emissions testing in Washington, so the catless option won't be an issue. I was thinking the same thing; whichever is cheaper. With the Thermal downpipe being $220, I'm betting the cheaper option is having the current setup modified. After Christmas, I'll call ar...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

So I'm on the fence about my next step with exhaust. I have a Thermal 3" cat-back setup in my garage. The Maxxfab 3" catted downpipe on the car, necks down to 2.25" to connect to the stock exhaust (see below) and I want to get rid of that restriction. My original plan was to have an exhaust shop cut...

Re: Random posting

A guy at work asked me about my car today. He didn't know anything about the SRT-4 and was surprised to hear it was turbocharged. It's always fun to educate people about the car. Especially since they're so rare anymore.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Hopefully it is something simple. The oil filter on my swap never stayed tight until I put the balance shafts back in. But the Stratus oil filter location is on the end of the oil pump, so it kind of amplifies those vibrations. I literally had to retighten it once a week when I was DD'ing it. I che...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

The newer pedals would look great, but I just don't think I care enough to go through the work to upgrade them. They're more than just covers, aren't they? Wouldn't I need to replace the assembly?

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Small update. I had been working with this worn out POS mat since I bought the car. It looked terrible and was absolutely chewed up from years of heel-toe shifting. Massive holes in it. I replaced the front mats with the ones that Modern Performance sells. They cover more of the floor than the stock...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

It reminds me of my old ACR, before I took the BBS off of it. It's a nice look. You now have more wheels for this car than I own shoes. I have 2 sets of wheels for the SRT-4. I sold the 5zigens about 4 or 5 months ago (FINALLY). You need some more shoes! I have a ton of shoes haha. Didn't you have ...
