Had this same issue and a week later one of my shifter cables snapped. Check your cables where they mount to the transmission bracket, mine were frayed badly at that spot. New cables and all of the noises that my 200,000km trans had developed, basically went Away. The whirring noise is pretty common...

Both of us have solar yellow neons, and the only indigo racing flywheels i've ever seen! What are the chances of that. I realize now that i never reused that metal shim on the flywheel between the crank bolts. Wonder if i should pull it and check for damage? did you get instructions with yours by an...

colorshift leds mounted into the back of the headlight housing, pointing towards the reflector. There is a controller to shift between colors. Probably illegal where you live, if it matters.

check the nvld pump, down below the brake booster. It has two elbowed lines running off of it, and they like to crack or wiggle loose.

Cut the studs with a grinder, you'll be at it forever with a dremel. The remaining cut stud will hammer out the back side of the flange, they are press fit m8 x 1.25 studs. Replace them With nuts and bolts that will fit

Hey man i had the same grind over 4500, broke my crossover cable a week after it started on a 1-2 shift. replaced both cables, no more grinds, Check the junkyard first, fuckers are over 300 from the dealer. Sucks they are pricey, but it was better then a dead trans for sure. Hopefully that's all it ...

Anyone feel free to pm me if you have more specific questions regarding the swap, id be happy to help other 2gners pull this off. It was fairly easy and a good learning experience, plus you will love your car that much more once you are finished.

Yep you just need to run a wire from white/orange pin 66 at pcm, to the white orange wire where it ends up at the two connectors behind the battery. White orange runs up from the speed sensor but ends there.

when you swapped in the mtx trans, did you find the speedo plug, strapped to the back of the engine block with a false plug, connected to it? my car had the proper plug, but i needed to run splice into the white/orange wire, and run that to the pcm, speed sensor signal pin. My atx wiring harness had...

the sachs non-modular is what im running, no complaints so far. Cheapest i could find and it seemed like the best option for me since i had to learn to drive the car after swapping in the mtx trans. Stratus 2.7 mtx clutch is also highly rated for our cars, but i think they are hard to come by now.

The window switch needs to power a relay, which in turn powers the mtv. Otherwise you will burn out your rpm switch instantly. The mtv will only be powered from 4900 to redline in the setup you are going to use, so yes, it will see power for any length of time you are over 4900, however, the relays ...

Wire it to the clutch interlock switch so its grounded when the pedal is to the floor, wont hit that limiter when shifting unless you really nail the clutch all the way to the floor. Works great for me, safer this way too!

m14 x 2.0 is the thread size/pitch, if its any interest to you. Not sure if you've got a tap and die set with this size in it, but it really helps if you ever need to get them out again. That and lots of copper anti-seize, i find the nickel-based stuff is kinda shitty.

i find the bolts break more often then not, because of the rust buildup on the extra threads that hang into the crossmember. loosen them until they start to hang up, then tighten them again, going back and fourth like that usually keeps them from breaking in my experience. Takes longer, but clears s...

02's will have the plug for an mtx style speedo(3 pin) But no pcm software for it. You need an mtx pcm to get the speedo working. I'm in the same boat. Need to look at a pin-out for the Transmission range sensor, to verify which pin gets grounded when the car is in park or neutral(as an automatic). ...
