Jerry, I just spent a while reading your project log for the nyg, sucks to see the motor didn't work out for you.

When i heard i could get it back (before you bought it) i was a little apprehensive about how many hands it went through and couldn't justify spending the cash.

Your whole situation is really a shame. As far as AMM goes, everybody's life gets like that. But people still have responsibilities, just like you or I. I don't think there's much you can do at this point is there? I'd be willing to bet he no longer has your money or your materials. It's sad but tha...

been there done that, many moons ago. Although, I made my own and didn't use a prefabbed CAI. I actually had it set up like a ram-air system pulling air from under the front bumper and up through the fender and then through the air box. I eventually just opted for a real CAI to clean out some of the...

sorry to see you're STILL having problems with this thing...I hope DCR figures everything out for you...It's probably best that you got it back to him for the tune anyway, after all, he did build the motor. I was also going to chime in that I never had any problems running the 2gn VC with the crane ...

Thanks for the kind words Blair. And that 13 sec's should be possible on sticky street tires, not drag radials or slicks. Yes the car does run, actually wound up being more reliable than my daily driver which wouldn't turn over in one of the last snowstorms. Walked over to the neon and turned the ke...

The only reason it wouldn't make the drive would be because you ran out of gas. The car's in Coopersburg, PA 18036. Aroundabout 10 minutes outside of Allentown. I do have the title as well. I have the paperwork from when the motor was built. It was put together by a shop in Ohio, that's where this c...

I had 5% tint all the way around in my Ranger. Driving at night....unless there were headlights coming, you couldn't see a damn thing, no shadows, nothing. Stupid as hell, don't do it. I wound up removing the tint on the front windows because it wasn't going to pass inspection. And then left them of...

Yeah, when I had my turbo 4 door with the 17's and the PG the tires would never start spinning unless I let the clutch fly at about 3500rpm. As soon as the turbo spooled up they'd let loose, but not before.

I'm anxious to see what numbers you're putting out as well. You have been waiting long enough!

i did want to add that jeffb over on the other org is right about the 005 cam. if you look at all of the dynos of the cam you'll see that it doesn't make more than 150hp until over 5k rpms. i can't imagine this cam in a non-stroked 2.0. the extra displ is absolutely needed to keep it from feeling d...

I USUALLY shift by the 7k rpm mark. Well what's the difference in advance going from mopar to afx? I know there is a difference but I didn't think it was like night/day. I've also got the cam gear advanced 3 degrees. It's still running a little richer than it needs to. I wouldn't mind throwing an af...

when i shoot for a 150hp+ shot of nitrous i'll go with 116 octane race fuel, but why would i use anything more than 93? the reason i stayed at around 11:1 pistons is to be able to keep it streetable. if i were going to run race gas all of the time i would have gone with 12.5:1 pistons. i really wis...

No reason doing any more to the engine since I can't hook the power I've got now. Then I'll add my header and free flow cat and then move to suppension mods(struts, lowering springs, heavier anti-sway bars, strut bars, ect.) then I can get some better tires and rims(thinkin' 17's with 215/40's) and...

ok, this is a tob issue.. Whoever installed that clutch for you managed to mess up the throwout bearing. My trans does the same exact thing, but it doesnt go away when it warms up. Noise goes away when you press the clutch down for the most part. So my 95 does it and doesnt go away til about 4k rpm ...

i'm pretty sure you could do it but you'd probably run into more problems than it's worth.

the 1st gen sohc could use the dohc pcm i believe, generally they would just use it for the higher rev limiter.

it's kind of like the walmart/sams club relationship. You pay for a membership and get a discount off MSRP for the parts. Although, from what I've heard of people's experiences with them, it's cheaper going through the regular shops for the parts/online shopping for the parts. I will say that when i...

i don't see the point in doing this. Are you going to hide the bottle and all your lines? solenoids, all the n2o stuff under the hood? If not, don't bother trying to hide your juice switch.

mine did the same thing. It had something to do with the bellows tube. Make sure that your clamps are tight around that area. It's just a tiny tiny vac leak. It never caused any idle problems but the noise was always there.

I just left the vents closed and rarely ever had a problem. Dont' know why exactly it did it but it did. Just figured i'd tell you it was water. If it does happen again figure out a way to let your car air out so you don't start going things.

it's water. If you leave the vent open to circulate from outside the car, when it rains you'll have water puddle up in the dash somewhere. When you start driving the car it'll slosh around and pour out onto the passenger side floor. My 00 did it. Close the vents so that it circulates in the car and ...

you wont need ti retainers, people have argued about it for a long time, there's no need for ti retainers, especially on a street driven car.
