Re: quicksilvr's 2001 ACR

138k on the odo. Right now I'm just tuning up little things and driving it! It drives great, so I've been putting some miles on in going to KC and back.

Re: quicksilvr's 2001 ACR

Gramps: I'm glad to have it!

Bill: yes he did, and he still does. He has TWO special VC's hanging in his garage: a black carbon fiber one and a yellow kevlar one. Quite cool. I'm going to have the factory VC powdercoated....

Re: Turbodudey/quicksilvr MegaSquirt & Turbo Build

Been driving the car a bit, working on the fuel map. It's getting better, but still work to do. It wants to swing from rich to lean and back again when the throttle is just barely open and the vacuum is at it's highest point. And at full boost it's not quite fully happy....too rich in some places an...

Re: Turbodudey/quicksilvr MegaSquirt & Turbo Build

Holy cow that looks amazing! Car tuned yet? Josh just ordered some new smaller injectors. The 80# units that were in there couldn't run a small enough pulse width to have a good idle AFR. Idle itself was very smooth...but like 10.5 AFR. Just a tad rich. lol So, he's popping the new injectors in, an...

Just to RIP this thread...this is how the car looked when I sold it. The girl that bought it lasted about a year before she totaled it.

Re: Staying alive, stayin' alive....ah ah ah

What are the specs on it? Turbo 2.0 or SRT swap? Built 2.0 with a 20g and full MS. We are getting ready to go full on MS3 Pro with coil on plug ignition. We have all the parts, just haven't installed. The clutch is still an issue, but if it would hold, I'd love to turn the boost up to 20 and see wh...

Dave, you and your dad should come to Carlisle this year :D Man, I know. The problem keeps being that our family vacation time has to fall on basically the same week/weekend as Carlisle. And we've been visiting my mom and staying at the beach on the shore in New Jersey every year. If dad had the ti...

Re: Turbodudey/quicksilvr MegaSquirt & Turbo Build

Hey, the car won't make it out this year, but I'm going to stop in and say hi...timing of family vacation out to PA to visit my mom happens to be the same as the show again this year.

Yes, I do like the S-tech springs, but by the time you buy springs and 4 new struts, you've spent the same or more than the Ultimo's. I think the Racelands are the way to go. I'm also thinking that 205/45's will look pretty nice if I lower the car down on them. Sure my 75mph highway rpm will be sky ...

The big question: 205/45r16 or 205/50r16? The 45's are shorter than stock and the 50's are taller. The perfect match is 215/45r16....but there are no tires available in that size. I'm looking at the Direzza DZ102 as my first choice right now.

It's a regular AutoZone battery....I got the picture to post. I may try spraying the top with black plastidip....that way if it doesn't like it, I can peel it off. I do have an extra white face cluster, but I don't want to swap the whole thing. The tach needle just doesn't swing smoothly....it's acc...

Gotta do something about that ugly red battery. Anyone ever painted a battery top before?? https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8567/16488539225_64a56f790b_b.jpg Also: has anyone had experience fixing the tachometer to not be "jerky"? The speedo is perfect, but the tach moves with a jerk, like its getting...

The left outer tie rod end is loosey Goosey, I picked up a new one today. I'm thinking about selling the tires on eBay while they are still thick, and getting some Dunlop Direzza DZ102's, in 205/50. Then I can lower it on Raceland's. It drives great other than the tie rod and the intake actuator not...

205/40R17's are tiny. Unless you lower it a LOT, they'll look kind of funny. 205/45, 215/40 and 215/45 are all better choices. Plus those sizes will all ride and drive better.

[The front bumper looks all beat up in that picture I posted, but it's just reflection from the gas station lights....the bumper is actually really nice and shiny]
