Re: Random posting

those from affected areas are traveling to our area to buy goods (hoarding) and leaving the Virus with us to contend with. This is happening in a few places. Most rural areas don't have the hospital capacity that the urban areas do. And like said, the stores are not stocked or equipped to handle ho...

Re: Random posting

It is certainly enlightening on how unprepared we really are.... There is talk of returning kids to school before the end of the school year, but given how this is supposed to peak in May, I don't see how that is supposed to work, as most schools are done at the end of May. It makes about as much se...

Re: 2003 SRT

The SRT in bone stock form, is very reliable. They still had a warranty period to survive through, just like the rest of the cars. Like anything else, when you begin to push it, there are going to be issues that need to be addressed, or you will get bit. You just have to be a little more smarter whe...

Re: What are these wheels?

Those do not look like factory wheels. At least from the picture, the lug nut wells are not deep enough, as all Chrysler FWD wheels had the lug nuts buried deep into the wheel. Maybe try doing an image search on your phone if it has that ability. Value, depends mostly on what someone is willing to p...

Re: Anatomy of a gauge cluster with some pointers.

If you were to use them for something other than the marked purpose, you would EITHER need to cut the printed circuit going to them, and use something less than 12 volts. The LED's will blow if you put 12 volts to them. I have not measured the voltage that does go to the sockets, but I'm sure if 12 ...

Yes. After the bulb holder is twisted out, just hold it up to a light to be sure there is a round dot there.

Is there actually a bulb, that has an intact filament in the dome light socket?

Not knowing how they removed the pins, if there is a snipped wire, possibly partially grounding out, it's tough to say if that is the cause...

Re: Anatomy of a gauge cluster with some pointers.

Looking at the cluster from the front, it is on the right side. It is easiest to just pull the bulbs out on that side, and look for the one that is a round dot when holding it up to a light. The icons for what is in front of the bulb will illuminate. Most of the bulbs are marked on the cardboard on ...

Re: Vibration through steering wheel

CV joints will also cause the steering wheel to possibly shake. I have never had one actually shake the car. It was more of a wobble in the steering wheel, to downright violent shaking of the steering wheel. They are usually pretty noisy when that happens too. They may or may not make noise constant...

Re: Rear drivers side wheel locked up

If you cannot get the adjuster to move, you may have to resort to trying to pry the drum off, after removing the spindle nut in the center, just to make things easier. The drum does come off the hub, but they tend to rust bond together. Without removing the nut, you will be fighting both the frictio...

Re: What PT parts can fit a Neon?

I honestly don't know about the PT struts. I don't know that a parts store would open a box to compare the differences. Maybe some of the parts store/manufacturer web sites have some kind of dimensional specs on them. The spring perch is mounted higher on SRT struts, but I don't know that the strut ...

Re: What PT parts can fit a Neon?

Mainly the parts above, probably the steering wheel, although I don't know that any cruise control stuff on a PT is compatible with the neon, since the control pods work on resistor values. those values are different between 1st gen and 2gn neons, so it would not surprise me if it was also different...

Could try adding something like Redline Water Wetter, or 40º Below, to aid in the thermal transfer qualities of the coolant. The nice thing about at least Water Wetter, is the heater seems works better in the winter. So it isn't just beneficial in the summer. I have not used 40º Below, so I can't re...

It tends to overheat when it gets really hot. I tried a thorough flush last summer with some chemicals but the end result is the same. I guess it is just what neons do. I wouldn't say its what they do. Is it actually physically boiling, or does the gauge just show it is getting too warm? If it is n...

They are just bare mild steel, so once they begin to rust, there is no stopping it. And then it spreads to the surrounding metal.
