Re: Manny's 96 turbo coupe: update 5/10/18

Finally completed a much needed upgrade. And that is going from the 95-96 style metal gas tank 11.5 Gal to the 2gn plastic 12.5 gallon. Just to avoid confusion for newbies, since the 1gn '97 - '99 plastic tank is not entirely the same as a '00 to '05 2gn tank. A 2gn tank will fit just fine, BUT the...

Re: Manny's 96 turbo coupe: update 5/10/18

Unless you can get some hardener and mix it with the clear, It likely won't hold up more than 3 to 5 years if you're lucky. Rattle can clear and even moderate heat just don't get along too well, unless you can get the stuff with hardener mixed in the can. I would at least get some hadener from TSC, ...

When clicking on the contact button, it seems PM's are the only thing that is displayed. I miss the old format hat had an email button.

Possibly Jason has access to emails, and can help you out.

Re: OMG EPIC THREAD

My employer just sold the family business to a large foreign holding company. So things should be interesting. It will either stay the same (doubtful), get better, or get worse. Time will tell. They also own a few of our major competitors, and have for over 10 years, so it's less likely we will be l...

Being the press kit is dated 2005 , it is probably a red SRT-D pictured. They never used 15" 6 spokes on the SRT.... Why would they use a 4 year or older photo for a new press release? There is a publication date of 01/02 on the lower right hand corner of the back cover. This is why the "nostril"-l...

Re: Wheel and rim Help please!!

Wheel adapters will space the wheels out too far. Other than doing some custom work, using larger bolt pattern hubs, you are stuck with 5x100 wheels. There is an old thread somewhere on neons.org about using the front hubs from an Intrepid (?) and custom pieces for the rear, to use 5x114.3 wheels on...

Every day I see stuff that makes me so thankful my parents were/are fairly normal, and didn't give us too many reason to shun them growing up. Re: How-To: Fix a Broken Door Check (save $30-40)

Wish I knew about this before mine tore itself to shreds. However, in the process, I did learn that the checks are physically interchangeable left to right. It's the same for 1st gen's. I think you can even use the rear door checks on the front, at least with 1st gen's. Been too long since I've rea...

Re: SRT 55mm TB Mod For 2.0 NGC Neons

You can get a 56mm BBK for a V6 Ford. Not cheap, and you'll still need to make an adapter.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bbk-1548/overview/

A neon TPS and IAC will bolt on with some slight modification. A 2000 IAC takes a bit more to work.

Re: Help me to pick a new car

The even scarier part is these idiots in their minivans/SUV's can haul ass, they forget they cannot haul ass around corners like a smaller lower car with the same or less power. It's amusing when they are behind you, and not so much when they are in front of you.

The sad part is, the crappy paint on the shocks held up better than the rest of the '99 Jeep I had. It's not like they put too much into corrosion prevention on shocks and struts. They even rust when you add a few coats of paint to them. The passenger floor board was totally gone within 4 years, and...

Re: Rubbing issue. Input please!

Got to love how your car is trying to tell you something, but just like when a woman doesn't directly tell what the issue is, you are clueless to what the key is to figuring out the root problem, because well, it wouldn't be any fun for them, if you weren't twisting on the end of the rope for a whil...

Re: 02 ES ATX Tie Rod Question

I just got mine as tight as I could given the space to work in. (Working with it in the car) There are no factory specs, because Chrysler never made, or sold inner tie rods for replacement. You are "supposed to replace the rack" (steering gear) when they wear out. While that might seem a bit extreme...
