Re: 2002 R/T Built to Death

Hope that your experience with Progressive is better than mine was back in 2003. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone I like. QFT! Progressive and Westfield are on the same Board. Westfield's insured is who totalled my '01. Even though I was not cited or found at fault by the police, they determined...

They will quickly cover the property damages. Medical may take a while...

Hopefully it isn't USAA. They were all nice, until I began submitting injury claims. Then it was like who are you? Go Away!

Did a fine job of representing our veterans they did.

Hopefully your daughter's and your's whiplash doesn't get as bad as mine did. Almost 3 months of barely able to sleep from the pain, and almost a year of PT. And this after having no symptoms until a week later. Then it hit me like a freight train. It changes your perspective on all those "Faker's" ...

Re: 2002 R/T Built to Death

Suckage! Silver car curse. Every silver car I have owned has been rear ended, or people constantly pulling out in front of me. They are "invisible", hence why all the Ohio State patrol cars are silver. My '01 has been rear ended 5 times, and was totalled in 2007 when the idiot in the Ford high cube ...

Re: A/C Issues

My guess is there is no voltage applied. IIRC,the other end of the wire goes to the PCM, which senses ground, and lets the A/C function. If it doesn't sense ground, it prevents the compressor from running. They don't wire it up like old school. Everything is a "circuit sense" through the PCM. We has...

Until you get the high temp/pressure connector to seat, I doubt it is going to function.

Re: Forum access problems

You must also have 40 posts to read the FS section. Which is kind of silly, because if you send parts before payment, well that's your own fault. It's a bit tougher to scam when you are the buyer. But honestly, you aren't going to find much. Since the forum crashed earlier this year, all posts after...

Re: A/C Issues

IIRC, the fan(s) are not tied to the compressor relay. The PCM uses the high pressure switch as a signal to turn them on. The high pressure switch tells the PCM that the condenser is heating up, and needs cooled. This reduces fan run time in the winter when the defrost is on, or totally eliminates i...

Re: Dodge/Chrysler News

I would rather it be KIA than Hyundai. KIA has a better track record for reliability and overall quality. Probably better than Fiat... who has the largest recall in history going on right now, with cruise control accelerating and not shutting off. It's either kick it in neutral, and hope the rev lim...

Get a complete donor car, and take all the wiring/engine/PCM related stuff and transfer it over. Or buy and learn how to set up a stand alone engine management system. And research, read, research, read, research, read, research, read, research, read, research, read. Anything you can find on the int...

Since I own one, I hope he's correct. Unfortunately there's better 4 cylinder turbocharged cars being produced now, which also affects the market for the SRT-4's. My son has a 2017 Lincoln MKZ, which is bigger, more comfortable, handles and performs well. Apples and oranges. Exactly. One is based o...

They are close to oem, but OEM's and cheaper stock replacements don't have the free form reflectors.

Re: Project 2002 ACR

Slightly tweaked exhaust valve(s) from a broken timing belt could be why the valve(s) burned. It would only take a few thousandths for hot combustion pressure to leak by, and do it's dirty work. As far as bolting the head on, why not? The chambers and piston don't look terrible, like there was a ton...

Re: Project 2002 ACR

But to get it about the same path as the crosshatch, and not straight up and down, given the speeds the piston travels, even at cranking, would be a pretty tough feat. That was where my train of thought was. It would have to be moving upwards and spinning to make that arc. If it was spinning, it wou...

Re: Project 2002 ACR

Wow, that's an interesting scratch. I wonder if it wasn't done during the honing process, and just ignored. Cylinder walls are pretty tough on modern engines due to the high nickel content of the blocks, so it takes a lot of abuse to wipe out the cross hatch. At 300,000 miles, the 1.7 VW engine in m...

Re: Charms Project Log

From the looks of that backing plate, there hasn't been any brake shoes in there for ages. What concerns me more, is where/how/if they blocked the rear brake line(s) at. Because without shoes, the wheel cylinder would have pushed a piston out the end, and the brakes would be really terrible....

Yeah, Mike's snapped clean off. Him and Ashley weren't going anywhere until it got replaced. I think that was the first or second Carlisle for me.

At least Jerry was able to limp it to a parts store, given that was a whole different situation.

Re: What is this connector for?

You'll need the wire harness that plugs into the mirror/visors also. IIRC, it runs up the A pillar. Or you'll have to at least have the connector for the mirror, and wire it in.
