Re: Can't get away from Neon's

I don't know that there are a lot of white 2gn's. As far as I can remember, the only white ones I have seen are ACR's and SRT's, and even those are not common. In my area, I have not seen one white 2gn. Ever. There have been only a handful on here; Danteneon's ACR, and MyNeonSaysHi's SRT being the o...

I would also make her get involved too, as it is her car, and she should at least have some comprehension of how things function, and develop some appreciation of what it takes to fix things. I made my daughter help out in fixing the little issues her first car had. They tend to be a bit more cautio...

Re: Can't get away from Neon's

Silver is not my favorite color, but somehow I have seemed to own a fair amount of silver cars, because the bang for the buck exceeded my dislike for the color. I don't mind it as an accent color, but for the entire car, it doesn't thrill me. I guess I will settle for a color choice that doesn...

It's the hotel that skeeves me out. It's laughable to think that budget hotels out there are doing anything differently in the midst of this pandemic. A sanitized hotel? Probably no worse than they ever have been. Corona would just have to do battle with everything else that's already been there! :...

I drilled a few holes, and used nutserts so I wouldn't need someone either top or bottom to hold the other end from turning. It turned out pretty decent. I probably could have gotten away without cutting it up, but it would have needed spaced down to clear that hump in the center, and I didn't want ...

The only downfall, if you are running in the winter, is the cap does an amazing job of keeping the axle nut from rusting to the axle stub. The center cap broke on my Stratus winter wheels I use on the Impreza. That axle nut was much rustier than the other 3 when I put the summer wheels back on. :cus...

With the wiring already in place, it is just plug and play. My '01 had all the wiring, except for on wire, from the firewall connector under the dash, to the steering column connector. I had to crawl under there and add it in. Everything else was intact. I also did not use the vacuum reservoir. It h...

The cable can be removed from the servo. IIRC, the servos are all pretty much the same. I am not sure how different the ATX and MTX cable ends are at the TB. The 4 speed ATX and MTX TB's are the same in the US market. The 3 speed TB was different due to the kickdown, but the 41TE didn't have a kickd...

SRT pedal covers do not fit onto standard neon pedals without cutting the standard pedals. The SRT pedal pads are shorter and slightly wider. SRT on the left, standard on the right. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49903442071_2d7395cdfa_b.jpg IMG_20200516_191943739 by occasional demons , on Flickr

Technically the tires shouldn't rub, but if the balance got bad enough that they began to oscillate, they might begin to touch. Or an alignment bolt got loose.

The Hercules tires I got were made in South Korea. At least it isn't North Korea.

Seats, if the leather trim is in good shape, most of the interior is the same, other than maybe color, and door insert patterns. The struts, knuckles and brakes would be an upgrade, but for the rear discs, I would use R/T rotors instead of the SRT rear rotors. If they have been sitting a while, they...

Stupid question but is that sound insulation underneath the plastic dash cover? Yes, it is applied directly to the firewall/interior cowl plenum. There is a heavy rubber type mat that wraps around the cowl plenum and down the interior firewall. That yellow sponge foam attaches to the rubber mat. Th...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

I just put some new 225 45 17's on my Impreza. I figured that with coilovers, they should fit the neon, if for some reason the tires outlive the Impreza. They are Hercules Raptis R-T5. They don't look like much, but so far I am happy with them. Fuel mileage has increased about 2 mpg, steering respon...

from the looks of the plastic guide, the latch might need a bit of cleaning/lube, or just replaced.

They are the same part from '95 to 2005.

So I messed with the position of the part that’s bolted to the trunk tonight.
Should be able to pull both sides of the striker all the way up. If that doesn't do it, I guess you could make bigger holes in the striker.
